Used Prices for 996

Guys, I've been trying to sell my immaculate 996 without much success, pressure upon the used market from the swop to 997 is obvious but I'd no real takers so decided to trade it against a my new car only to find it's depreciated by 20% in 8 months since I bought it for £30k in March, whats going on?

Thanks for the responses guys, a few answers.
Selling it since I changed jobs, relocated and now live at the base of the Cheviots which is great but spend 40 mins every morning and an hour every evening sitting nose to tail on the A1 trying to get across the Tyne (it's a Northern thing guys!)
The spec is silver with full black ruffled plus some nice extras like heated seats, 6cd, climate, computer and the car overall is spotless, full OPC history and 67k miles. Just wish I could afford to keep it and buy something to commute with.
