996 turbo engine versus 996 non-turbo engine

After all your great advice I'm zoning in on manual 996 turbos now -- even booked some viewings this week and next as it goes.

But could I have a bit of background please? I'm told the 996tt engine is fundamentally different from the regular 996 engine and has a different bloodline.

To satisfy my curiosity what are some technical differences?

kiko, I'd really appreciate reading some other stuff about this engine. What's a good book you'd recommend?

Of course, if you'd like to continue talking about squareness of bore/stroke, rod length and crank throws, valve gear, turbo design and what-have-you, I'd be delighted to read about it!
