Basic tech question - heated seats not working!

Hi,

the driver's heated seat on my '03 Boxster S has stopped working. The red LED comes on when you depress the switch, but goes out as soon as you release it.
I was wondering if anyone else had had a similar problem? I don't want to take it to an OPC if there's a chance I can fix it myself, but wouldn't mind knowing if it's likely to be a switch fault, relay problem (both a DIY fix probably) or if a heating element's gone (OPC fix ).
Passenger side still works fine, by the way.

Any advise on what to check greatfully received ...

I think there's just a single fuse which covers both driver and passenger seats - so if I'm right, it can't be the fuse.
I'd have thought there should be a relay somewhere for this, but can't track it down. Any other help much appreciated.
