Had car into OPC yesterday for some work. Got a phonecall, "two of your Tyres are a bit worn", "Just under 3mm left, shall we replace them, its our policy when there just on tread wear indicators". I was pre-occupied at work, and stupidly just said yes.

So now I have, on the front, one brand new tyre and one just over indicator. Same on rear..

Is this wise? Will dry / wet handling be affected?

I'll not post how much OPC Charged for tyres as I will cry..

I wasn't sure. The "worn" tyre is still in legal limits but seemed a bit daft to me at the time. But needed to pay bill and get away. Pi**ing down when I left and first roundabout back slid away from. I drive like a girl (no offence girls) so was a bit shocked..

Waiting for service manager to return call. Thanks for advice however I doubt he will either take them off (mine prob on mechanic car now) or discount.. More likely empty wallet again..

Guy at OPC reckons they are fine. He said one at just over 3mm on rear and a new one is ok. Im not convinced though..
So I'll try and get some a bit "keener" priced..
