Pre 2003 PCM Phone Module & Orange Sim

I've been using the PCM phone with a vodaphone Sim for a few months now and has worked great. Even got Vodaphone to set me up with a multi-sim so I didn't have to switch the sim from handheld to car every time I got in it.
BUT.... I just changed to Orange and the new Orange Sim don't work. Spoke to Porsche main dealer; "Pre '03 PCMs will NOT work with Orange"
Has anyone come across this b4 and what have they found to be a workaround (short of going back to vodaphone !)

it's known as their 'Multi-Sim' scheme. I'm a business user (perhaps that made a difference). My business has (had) a few phones on Vodaphone Connect. Our FC got onto them and arranged it. He probably pushed them a little bit. Took a week or two to receive the 2nd sim and never received the formal instructions. Got it to work successfully however.
