Porsche 968 - flat battery - boot won't open

great timing - it had to happen on Derby Day - was hoping to drive to mates BBQ in the porker - but the battery dies completely. even the clock has stopped ticking :-(
anyway, i'm puzzling over how to open the boot (where the battery resides) when there is no power to activate the latch. any 968 mechanics about not watching the Derby?
darn, i was hoping there was a simpler way than climbing into the boot!
ciggie lighter - that's an idea. unfortunately i don't have one of those ciggie-to-ciggie starters on hand. AA is coming out in a few minutes
f*g batteries. just noticed in the service history, that one the previous owners called out recovery several times (in a year) for a flat battery!
all i did was alarm up the car last night. now i know why it went off for 10s in the middle of the night .. guess it's too late by then.
