Following my prang in Italy can anyone tell me if the 968 rear wing is a replaceable panel or part of the monococque (sp)? I mean the wings over the wheel arches and not the aerodynamic appendages here. Looking at the car the rear wing seems to merge into the C post with no visible join making me think it is not a replaceable panel. If this is the case and the damage can not be panel-beaten out am I looking at a write off

Thanks for all the feedback. Not worried about the cost, as it’s an insurance job. I’m more worried about the insurance company trying to write it off if they’re presented with a 2K plus bill to repair a 10-year-old car that’s only insured for 11K. I’ve heard some pretty silly stories about insurance companies writing off perfectly repairable cars because it’s too much hassle for them to sort out. Especially when they’re older models. The work will probably be done by a Porsche centre so I’ll have to wait and see what they quote.

I guess if they do try to write it off I could buy the salvage from them and get it repaired myself as per one of the suggestions above.
