No don't worry i'm not about to defect, just that I can really see the appeal of certain models & wondering is it just the reliability issues that would put you off or other reasons?

Dunno if its old age or what but I used to dislike the look of Chimeras, but now Im thinking chims are looking strangely attractive & less stricken by the unreliability woes of more modern stuff.

Then again perhaps its just insanity creeping up on me as I have for some odd reason been thinking about what a great little car (although I freely admit saddled with a girly/hairdresser image) an MX5 is as a runabout, even thought about getting a testdrive too......

I think I may need a lie down.

Don, cheers for the offer mate, would certainly like to take you up on it sometime.

I actually sold my S2 a couple of months ago and have been porkerless for a bit.

I'm not actually contemplating TreVoR ownership at present, although I certainly do see the appeal at the lower £ end of the market i.e. early chims/griffs but I feel its more likely either a 968CS, E30M3, Caterham of some description, or one of those funny porkers with the engines at the back that use air to cool 'em (& pref a '73RS replica) will end up on the drive at Lizard towers before I would consider a TVR.

For a couple of reasons I do need to save a few £ for a bit, so I might make do with terrorising unsuspecting porker owners in my old Corrado for a little while, however seeing as I have minimal self restraint where finances are concerned & that I want to track what ever I get anyway, I have also been eyeing the ex racer market now that the end of the season is upon us, so you never know.

Verysideways- nice to see you back mate, hope to catch up at Virgina Waters.

Blimey Iguana - you might be contemplating buying a Caterham? Act quickly and check out the For Sale section of www.Blatchat.com - there's a reasonably priced Fireblade on there in my favourite colour.

I know you'll buy a nice Autofarm 2.7RS recreation

Bit steep for the Lizard budget & as much as I love bike power it would need to be a road car too, so windscreen & hood etc would dent the performance some what.

The budget would be nearer this sorta thing anyway-

Its not an issue at the mo as I'm not quite in a position to buy for a while yet, however what I'd really want is an SV, coz normal ones are a tad tight for me- bareable as a track toy wearing pixie boots & race suit etc if the blade engined jobbie I went in a while back is anything to go by, but with my normal size 13 boots & in normal clothes I need to be oiled up like a turkish wrestler to fit in a standard caterham the bummer is that SVs are too flippin pricey tho
