Hi all,
New Porsche owner to the forum, been highly recommended by 'Domster'. I cuerrently drive a great 964 C2 but its days are numbered now I can afford a LHD T2/993 - apart from the obvious (one more boring but more reliable etc)has anyone with experience of both got any pointers/know any nice ones for sale at sensible money?
Cheers
ps: Dom, don't need your views, hear them every other day anyway ;-)

Cheers UV,
Have to admit, the 993 route is looking more promising currently (slightly cheaper and having just bought another house cash will be a tad tight for amonth or two). Agree totally with your points, the sort of thing I expected. Which T2 do you own - 3.3 or 3.6?
I used to have a cosworth at 300bhp so understand exactly what you mean regarding lag, had a 944 turbo too which was marginally better, guess the extra engine size gives you more torque at all times hence making it more drivable?
Where are you based? If it was convenient at some time it would be great to have a look at one properly in the flesh (not under the beady eye of a sales chap) to check out all the bits that need inspecting. I'm guessing that bodywork wise it's the same stuff as a normal 964 (I'm pretty happy looking over them) - just the specific turbo bits really.
Wouldn't mind being beaten by TVR drivers, I used to have a Griffith (kept for 2 months as it was the most offensive piece of sh*t I've ever been handed the keys to - oops, that'll upset 'the other half' who swear by them and I certainly don't want to get into a TVR vs Porker chat ) and know that while they may be quicker, there's far more to a car than a big engine - otherwise we'd all drive dragsters.
Cheers
