I'm still a bit stunned, Ive just test driven a 993 TT and decided to purchase it!
It was Sooo fast I didn't want to rev it beyong about 4000 rpm!
I'm so excited!
It seems to be in really fine condition, with only some stone chips rear of the front wheels and and with a low mileage, the brakes didn't look like the car had been on a track and the owner seemed like a decent honest bloke.

Now I'm going to do an HPi check and get a dealer to give the car a once over!
The car felt taut to drive and Turbo cars don't usually sound that nice, but this one has a Gemballa back box and wheels....so it sounded quite rorty!
The hardest part is now I have to sell my trusty and brilliant 928 S4 manual-without doubt one of the most accomplished cars I've owned and one I've been quite fastidious about for the last six years

I did an HPI check and the car checked out OK, I also phoned up one of the previous owners, and it continues to check out fine-Its owner before last was a head of a Ferrari dealership-when I quizzed why he would own a Porsche rather then a Ferrari, he said he needed to actually MAKE it from A to B-make of that what you will!

Thanks for the kind words, Veewhy, nel, and MOD500-actually it is a silver 993-this weekend we will be getting the car sent to a main dealer to be given the once over.

BarryJ I don't have any pictures of it yet-well not online, but I would probably be interested in showing up, I have two mandatory days off around the time you mention and it will kick me out of paranoid isolationist phase I seem to be going through now!

For me part of the thril of owning a car like this, is the longing, desire and reading up all the technical details, and around the the time when the car was new, I was leaving University, but I had never imagined in my wildest dreams I'd be shooting for one of these back then, I had dreamed about 930 Turbos in my mid teens and even 928s. The Paul Frere books is an ideal book to really get into technical details with the 993!

Darren, well its sods law, knowing my luck and other 993 TT owners beware, the values will probably plummet just after I take delivery! Its always the way

It is like some kind of weird ammended chaos theory!
Either that or I get offered that job in the US I've been routing for for a while! *L*

Arrrgghhh!!

Great now the opportunity in Australia is potentially back on the cards again!
I couldn't ship it across unless I've owned it for over a year and over in OZ the prices for one, I'd imagine are through the roof due to the rarity!

So the choice is - a reasonably entertaining petrol head job but getting paid measley amounts and living in an overpriced rabit hutch but driving a dream machine or living where the house prices are resonable, with space, a mildly boring job, cheap cost of living but driving something like Holden Monaro.....

I'm going ahead with the deal now, The car checked out and the brakes and discs are being replaced.I pick it up tommorow-Polar silver metallic with a beautiful interior and only 42000 miles on the clock!

I'm pointing the nose toward the horizon this long weekend toward Cornwall most likely!

*LOL* Thanks mates!

Good thing it's not a 930, else when the boost comes in round a sharp bend- I'd be spinning so fast I'd create my own magnetic field!
