this correct £475 Road tax
Discussion
Finally got round to writing my letter to the DVLA, tbh, not holding out much hope, but if you don't ask, you don't get. I have followed the advice given here by Glow Worm & others. My current V5C, gives a CO2 value of 405, Petrol Car, and my car was first registered on 01/03/2001. Letter and current V5C sent first class/signed-for etc, using wording as advised on here, so lets wait and see.
Will update if/when I get any response.

Another letter winging its way to DVLA today (recorded delivery). Included will be - V5c, Ins cert, MOT, V70 & the HMRC excerpt specifically mentioning TVR as a low volume manufacturer who is exempt from standard classification requirements.
My first effort was rejected, i got a standard response "explaining" type approval process and stating i needed written conformation from the manufacturer plus certificate of conformity. My follow up letter was unanswered.
Fingers crossed...

Might be getting somewhere this time, could someone who has successfully had their tax class changed share their registration, seems that will help the cause; I would reference Glow Worms registration and A.N Other. My first effort was rejected, i got a standard response "explaining" type approval process and stating i needed written conformation from the manufacturer plus certificate of conformity. So vaguely related..... some of the cars registered 2004/later seem to pass the ULEZ check - how is this the case, and can I assume there's no way of getting that applied retroactively? Looking at a Tuscan/T350 and if I could avoid ULEZ it'd be nice.....
Are there any NOx readings for the speed six available?

So, did get a refund, £60......!!.
Which I felt was a joke, considering I’ve owned and been taxing the vehicle for nearly 20 years, so went back to the DVLA, and have since been told....
"We have checked with the relevant refund section, and if a keeper of the vehicle has been paying the incorrect amount of tax we can only refund for the last two incorrect licences. As you have had the vehicle since 2002 we would have expected you to notify us of the error when you realised you were paying the incorrect amount."
So, considering that the DVLA only corrected their error of incorrectly classing my vehicle’s tax class, at the end of May 2021, I wouldn’t have been able to notify the DVLA of this much sooner than I did, I have now formally requested that this matter be referred to the DVLA Complaints Department.
The saga goes on…..watch this space.

Is there an Ombudsman for this ?Which I felt was a joke, considering I’ve owned and been taxing the vehicle for nearly 20 years, so went back to the DVLA, and have since been told....

After a letter to DVLA, posted on 29th Jan 2021, 3 follow-up phone calls, got my new V5C today, and my Tuscan is now tax classed as Private/Light Goods (PLG). Happy Happy Days .
Big big thankyou to Glow worm, and everyone else who has contributed to this post .
Mr T, I’m going to call them again for an update on my third recorded delivery request (from April and which they do have); could I possibly reference your registration in further support of my application….After a letter to DVLA, posted on 29th Jan 2021, 3 follow-up phone calls, got my new V5C today, and my Tuscan is now tax classed as Private/Light Goods (PLG). Dickie Dastardly....i've emailed you.
Thanks Mr T, received.Inspired by your success I actually phoned them again yesterday morning and after further discussions they have finally agreed to change the car to a PLG (4 letters, multiple phone calls and a complaint later...).
Likewise, thanks to the Glow Worm, Ratboiler and others who have helped and who let me reference their registrations in my latter letter; most appreciated...
