They weren't designed or built with a view to them being racing cars, that's what the Tuscan Racer is for .
A derivation of it in the form of the T440R was however competitive in the ALMS and LM24 series. However the factory didn't have deep enough pockets to make it truly competitive.

Also, previous poster has obviously not seen the results of Danny Winstanley's car over the last season - - when the (engine) was up against the best of Modena and Stuttgart. In a car that was, probably, half the cost of track Ferraris and Porsches.
