Tyre recommendations
Discussion
I know this has probably been done to death! But I can't get the search to work.
I need 2 new front tyres on my Mk1. I currently have TOYO proxes on front and rear. The handling has always been a bit skittish (even with Nitrons). Any recommendations for fronts only? Or is it better to change rears as well?

Well personally I'd also reccommend changing the rears as well, but its not me spending the cash.
I run Goodyear F1s and can honsetly say that I'm not going to change! The car handles superbly, no skittish behavior and every roadtest its had by dealers, everyone has commented on its planted feel. So why mess with something thats not broken?
I have full nitrons, front spacers, 235/40's on front and 255/35's on the rear. The only thing that has been noted as I've had a winge about this, is the height! I scrape every concieveable dent in the road! I kid you not, I have max 2 inches ground clearance
This may a contributory factor in its handling.
Whatever is the cause, the car is awesome at handling on raods and track.
