Heater Control Unit MK2
Discussion
Hello everybody,
As I have some Problems with the heater stepper motor on my left hand drive Tuscan MK2 I got me a new motor but the problem wasn't solved by that. It's doing the same buls
t as the old stepper motor. The motor gear is just twisting around with high frequency, like some oscillating movement. Therefore I assume the problems result in a faulty heater control unit. So I decided to get it out and give it away to get it repaired. Now I'm just about driving nuts because I can not find this dammned controlunit. I allready have turned all the footwells upside down, ripped off the carpets everywhere in the footwells and even searched with a stethoscope camera without any success. The only thing I found was a heater amplifire and my last hope is that this item is the same as the so called Heater ECU, even it looks totaly different to the Heater ECU's I found on pictures in the Web of MK1 Heater Ecu's. I hope somebody can help me.
Regards
Carsten

This makes my day. The unit on youre Photos looks exactly as the so called "Heater Amplifire" I found in the footwell of my Tuscan. It is like you assume. The Tuscan MK2 seems to have a differnt controling unit than the MK1 and it is obvisiosly the same as in all other Models later 2004. I just wonder why the designation had to be changed from "Heater ECU" respectively "Heater Control Unit" to "Heater Anplifire". This has taken me about 5 hours of creeping around in the footwell. But finally it is good that I know it now, so I hope getting the problems with my haeting under controll. I will let you know if this funny gear dancing raealy is a result of a defect in the control unit.
