Sad but inevitable. Have to say though that I support GM's stance on transferring technology to the Chinese and I hope this is an attitude which more companies begin adopting.

To be fair, it's hard to be more accurate.

Unfortunately, this was inevitable. Saab's demise has been consistent for the last few months. Personally, it is not a brand that have I have ever shown interest in, but I do feel for the employees (especially timing wise)..

Went past this one Saturday lunchtime and it has been completely stripped and all the cars gone from outside - just an office chair and a table left in an otherwise empty showroom.

This is now just full of Vauxhall metal now. They finally replaced the last SAAB (a black 2.8t convertible) with a Corsa VXR the other week irked

There is a new 9-5 here at the parking lot at this customer, which, bad brand or not, always seems to attract my attention.

Didn't think they'd become an exclusive car to be honest...

Yes, it's all a bit rich, given the amount of messing around and time wasting that GM caused Vauxhall and Opel recently - I'd really hoped that they were going to break away from the great dumber downer.

I'd venture to suggest that GM's excuse - protection of technology and intellectual property - is pretty thin as surely all anyone would need to do to pinch said technology and intellectual property is buy another GM product and reverse-engineer it. More likely is that they just didn't want anyone to succeed where they have failed - especially in the Chinese market itself.
