Fuel price increases AGAIN!!!!
Discussion
Hi all
Just wondering if anybody can tell me why we are paying 7p per litre more for unleaded than we were 3 weeks ago? Petrol in my area has went up twice this weeks whats going on? Crudes at around $40 a barrel so I guess we are been ripped off yet again! I notice it goes up a hell of a lot quicker than it comes down! PROTEST REQUIRED on fuel tax and road tax!!!!
Regards James

That's my point too.
Look at the thread above James, headed "scandalous profits by shell and bp"
You will realise that there is a lot of support for the price rises by the look of things !
Cheers timewatch..

The sooner you realise this the better, because quite frankly you are making an absolute arse of yourself. You're either a moron or a wind-up, no one is that stupid.

Oil is in US$ and what has happened to the value of the GB£ over the past few weeks, its fallen quite a bit, hence the price increase.Just wondering if anybody can tell me why we are paying 7p per litre more for unleaded than we were 3 weeks ago? Now it should come down again in in a few weeks if the GB£ continues to strengthen against the US$. Unfortunately, if the GP£ falls again to new lows and oil rises to $80 a barrel where these oil producing countries want it, we are all well and trully stuffed!

The silly high fuel prices really helped the ball start rolling last year wrt credit cruch etc as inflation spiked.
The sooner we get off the oil/gas and onto some renewables/fission/fusion the better. Energy price instability is just going to shaft our economy in the coming decade imho...
Yay, 3% pay rise and 0% inflation, oh, hang on, energy inflation has just shot up 10% in two months, and all of a sudden my pay rise has disappeared to shareholders and oil companies, and won't be spent down at the shops... product prices go up again, and the economy screeches to a half further more.
Good old energy provision foresight by the conservatives and mainly labour...

What about the 30p/l reduction we had pre-Christmas?I'm not defending the recent rise, but the market is volatile mostly due to that one eye'd Scottish idiot (and his sidekick) with the way they've helped cripple our economy and send the £ into freefall against the $ - which is what is causing our jungle juice to rise in price.
Do the sums.

First we have oil spike, then drop, at the same time the pound weakens.
With the US bailouts we might actually see the £/$ become more preferential and see fuel costs here drop further still... who knows.
I'd love to see 75p super again

Nice timewatch, really nice, you're still wrong, those of us that have no issue with BP and Shell making money still don't want to pay more for petrol.
You are aware fuel duty went up by 2p on Dec 1st last year and it's going up again in April and again next year?
The Government giveth with one hand and taketh with the other. You are aware fuel duty went up by 2p on Dec 1st last year and it's going up again in April and again next year?
