Yes I was quite pleased with that shot. Shame about the glove in the foreground, might have to airbrush that out ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
And you're right, it's more fun in a convoy. I thought of you Nicky whenever I had to stop for a wee![biglaugh](/inc/images/biglaugh.gif)
Thanks Rog! Suppose it's 'just' better than not thinking about me at all ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Although, it would be much better for my image if you thought about me when you stopped for coffee (directly related of course

I'm just sunning myself on the balcony with a San Miguel. Here's the view:

Here's my version of the way to do it....

Well I made it back, forgot to update the thread.
The journey home was made more lively by the loss of various on board functions. I rued my lack of heater blower when it was sub-zero in Burgos, took a while to defrost the screen (ice indicator was deep red). Then, after a fill up, I indicated to pull back onto the motorway, and lo and behold - no indicators! That slowed me down a bit. Then it started raining again and - you guessed it - no wipers either![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
I checked all the fuses and they all looked good (mental note: fuse 3 is in charge of locking the keys in the car).
I got round the wiper problem by polishing the screen with autoglym, which worked very well. I got around the lack of indicators by pretending to be an idiot foreigner (which was hard
). Soon I was happily overtaking without indicating and sailing past people in a rainstorm with no wipers on. ![thumbup](/inc/images/thumbup.gif)
About 500 miles later, the indicators and wipers started working again after another fill up. Weird.
A bit fell off, too. The lens cover for the sidelight is missing. Although I can't rule out some yobs nicking it as I left it on the street overnight.
All in all I covered 3,090 miles. I battled through snow, torrential traffic-stopping rain, sunshine and thick fog all in one day. The mpg on the way down was 24.15. I need to brim the tank again to see what mileage I got on the return leg. It's certainly not a cheap way to travel though, the cerb guzzled over 300 litres of 98 Ron on the way down, including a bit of running around during the week.
Would I do it again? Yes, although I might add an extra stop. From Burgos to Woking was over 900 miles, took 17 hrs including ferry, my brain was fried. But I didn't have any aches or pains, the seats are very comfy. Engine and transmission wise the cerb was faultless, in fact it's running better than ever. Amazing. I have even more respect for the AJP now.
A few pics:
Decided against the Ronda road. It takes a long time, is miles out my way, the weather was turning bad and my front tyres would benefit from not doing it![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

Burgos is a nice place. I took in some of the culture and had a kebab.

As I was pulling fuses with my pliers like some crazed dentist, this pulled in to the petrol station.
It was clearly a fezza. Later, once I'd failed to fix my problem, I did at least have the satisfaction of flying past it on the peage. I decided against a salutary wave as I went past but it was a close call.
