It’s on eBay aswell.

Ask who did the engine rebuild. I can see receipts from Austec and Dream Machines... both outfits that were run by cow boys and ripped people off.
If there's an RnD invoice you'll have the Holy Trinity biggrin
Definitely the holy trinity. Trinity of theiving wnakers.

The RND website seems to still be going though to entice newbies in hehe

Really who can be trusted then I haven’t found anyone yet?
You will find at least one owner, who will at some point have had a run in with even some of the more respected dealers out there.

There’s other though that haven’t had any cause for complaint. Likely because they haven’t had a high cost item fail on them.

You’ll need to get on a phone and talk to said dealers and see which one you feel most comfortable with.

I have used STR8SIX since I got my car, they rebuilt the thing for me pretty much from top to bottom.

When they did the engine rebuild a half time bearing became noisy after a year or so, engine out and replaced under warranty, no complaints from them or quibbles. In fact they have done every thing asked without issue.

That is one garage that has my complete confidence.

I am not associated with the garage in any way, just a very happy well looked after customer.

Anyone of you guys based in the north east?
I'm another North East based owner, up near Morpeth. Happy for you to come and have a look/chat but it won't be going out until they stop chucking whatever counts as road salt about!

This is true, I ended up suing and winning a court case against an indy who closed up and moved business rather than pay me what he owed. Damaged my car significantly, stole and sold parts belonging to me, owed me lots of money, yet some claim he's a good person.

I've had no issues with the garage I use now. Any problems have been quickly rectified.

I will definitely take you up on that, thanks for the offer. This thread is missing pics and links to others ownership threads if anyone has them?

I spent my Friday night researching and looking for TVR's I really have been bitten. I also noticed some nice Tuscans one in particular at 25k which did make me think twice but I think the Cerb is the car for me. A good friend of mine text me this morning saying his brother in law is selling his e92 M3 competition pack, so I'm going to have a chat with him this afternoon but I think my mind is made up on the Trevor.

its St8six who seem to have a decent reputation from what I've read
Think opposite to decent smile
Very odd. Having had dealings with Str8six for over five years and other garages for over 20+ years I’d say they are one of the best, if not the best, around.

Just came back to the thread and read this, my post was intended to suggest that the Holy Trinity were the ones that had a dubious reputation, certainly not Str8six.

Just noticed this beaut in the classifieds https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

Does anyone know the cars? thoughts, please? I was looking for a V8 but have I been too hasty to rule out the 4.0l.

Parts supply is better for the speed six...just about every single part is available including new head castings. The only thing that isn’t is blocks.

There's nothing wrong with the speed 6 variant of the Cerbera and in some ways it's much better.

It is a lot cheaper to fix when it goes bang, easier to drive, more of a GT, with more readily available spares and for some reason (probably length) the speed 6 sounds much better in the Cerbera than any of the other cars. Not that it sounds bad in those.

Built up to 4.3 or 4.5 spec, it'll keep up with a V8.

On the road, if all are properly set up, they'll all be overly powerful and about as quick as each other within the law.

The main differences seenmental and financial. There are bigger price gaps opening up between the speed 6, the 4.2 and the 4.5, which might reflect desirability.

The 4.5 gives you bragging rights and it removes any doubt from your mind if you're the kind to ask "What if?" a lot.

Only you know your attitude to those kinds of things, but whatever you choose you'll have an amazing and raw car.

As I literally did all my own work, I checked this with TVR power before buying a car and they confirmed the speed six had more parts available and more in the pipeline.

The AJP v8 might potentially mean sourcing and refurbing second hand parts should something major go wrong.
