Well I have driven my Tamora on both 16" wheels and now 18". I don't get the report in evo at all Mine was brilliant around Donnington Park the other week and the handful of people I took for a spin were gobsmacked by the handling. I'm so dissapointed in Evo mags article because they talked about the suspension being altered and that is total bollocks. I think they fit a spacer and thats it. I can't tell much difference between the two except for a slightly harder ride and more grip because the Toyo tyres are so good. Evo also ran some of the cars in the test on slicks so how is that a fair comparison?? It was even beaten by a VX220 and an Elise...

There was an elise at Donnington the other week and I was significantly quicker all day, even when the instructor was driving it. so either the Tamora they had was crap or the bloke who drove it was a muppet. I would guess it was the car.

But, after all it is TVR.....and no two are alike...even Evo mag should know that.

Just at the TVR dealer this morning getting a misfire sorted and the latest Tuscan's are coming from the factory with 40 series rubber and not the old 35 series, links in with the now standard RR suspension package "apparently"

As far as I'm aware, the Tuscan 18" front is a 235x40 tyre - which fits the 8.5" rim properly - unlike the 225x35. If you put a 235x40/18 on the front of a Cerbera, the wheels won't go round - no matter how good it looks standing still!

Bacchus - I only realised after I'd hit 'send' on the previous message that you'd actually already fitted 235x40/18's on the front. I'd just skimmed thread and thought that it was just rumour stuff about what the factory were fitting.

As your wheels obviously do go round (sorry), there's clearly some variation between cars (like we didn't know). My car is on the original 17" Raceline RL7 wheels on 235x40 and there simply isn't more than half an inch clearance all round to acommodate the same width and profile of tyre on a rim one inch bigger in diameter. The other day, I also saw another Cerbie at a garage to which the owner had fitted 235x40/18's on the front and the front arches WERE resting on the tyres!

I don't know. I tried pushing down on your wing as it appears on my PC screen but it's kinda hard to make a meaningful comparison.

as jools as quite rightly points out the car was a little too low, no problems with clearence, just no give in the suspension now its a little higher and alot more effective, thanks jools, the day was made for me by getting a ride in the jools mobile, "the need for speed" .... and roundabouts are never the same!!

yep gary came up to see me. spent some time sorting out what was wrong with the suspension .. a faulty damper and riding on the bump stops were to blame. we later proved how well it gripped (!) and how hard it was to get sideways outside Sainsbury's.

What's the effect on the speedo with these wheels, is the rolling circumference the same as the original 16/17" wheels ??

I go up to Matlock (actually Darley Dale) all the time - in laws up there. Very close to Chesterfield. Tempted to drop in on Joolz next time I am up there.
Not sure that my wife and kids want to go that far in the cerb though!?

Spooky!! That is very close to my parents in law and their parents. I thought the old guy shaking a stick at me was upset with the noise from the cerb rather than being a Joolz relative!

Just bought a 4.5 with 18" spiders. Having never driven another Cerbera can't compare but car handles well with the 18"'s. Can anyone confirm what tyre pressure I should run. Guy I bought it from said 2.4 bar (I guess that is pretty close to 35 psi which sounds high)
