TT Roofdown,
dont think you will find many cerberas that have been maintained outside of dealerships or indies. If it has then walk.
Just becuase a car has been well serviced doesnt protect you from engine rebuilds. The more important item is probably luck combined with how it has been treated ie no thrashing from cold. Also has the owner looked after the oil and have they got it checked out as soon as a problem occurs. I dont accept that a thick wodge of bills and a FSH is any assurance of on-going reliability.
20K miles on a high performance engine is far from good but I dont think only TVR have problems with engines eg look at ferrari, BMW Ms and porsche.
The V8 is a decent engine design. In the early days it had some reliability probs but since 97 it has been pretty damned good. having proved the basic design in the TUSCAN challenge and being a pretty excellent engineering effort combine to make a pretty tough unit. The S6 however.....
If you are NEVER prepared to pay for engine work then you might end up with regrets. chances are you will be ok though.
