Hi Dave, thanks !
Can you get the wiring, with the appropriate connectors, as a job lot somewhere or did you do it all by hand ?
Ta !

I fixed it all with a soldering iron. I even cut my broken ribbon cable back and resoldered it to the plug. Can you get the wiring, with the appropriate connectors, as a job lot somewhere or did you do it all by hand ?

As for taking the column out, did you remove the bolt completely from the adjuster. You need to do that. Watch very carefully how the adjuster spaces come out as they need to go back the same way, they are angled...
Ijust took the bolt out, column dropped down and slid out.
Check for play in the steering column. The white plastic triangular piece wears and what you think is play in the steering rack is just movement between the the white plastic guide and the shaft

Not sure precisely how the column adjustment lock mechanism works but I guess it needs to be unlocked for the hub end to slide off the column?
Hi Will,On the bad news front, when I extracted the adjustment mechanism it all fell into the footwell so will require some close examination when I reassemble

Thanks Dave but, as my previous photo shows, the Bolt, all the Adjusters and the Plate, through which they pass, are all out.Ijust took the bolt out, column dropped down and slid out.
