Window Control Box Chips

Sluggish window operation (or is it a new motor needed? or one side one has to have a helping hand up & it never seals itself?) In terms of sluggish - it could be the motor, but the power going to the motor is controlled by a chip in the window control box in the boot. If
omeone;s updated the door seals to the newer ones and not re-chipped the control box, you will definitely need the newer chips.
Can anyone shed any light on the control box chips - how to identify and/or replace them?omeone;s updated the door seals to the newer ones and not re-chipped the control box, you will definitely need the newer chips.
You're probably after a DIY solution, but Jody at Python Racing will know if anyone does. I replaced the early type seals on my car with the later thicker type without changing the control box and all is well. Nothing to say it hadn't had the control box replaced/upgraded previously if it developed a fault though.
Hey Paul
If my recollection is correct these are simple proms with a protect bit that contain the program that times when to stop the window on closing.
I think they take the trigger from the window switch, and then simply time how long it takes to get (or should get) for the window to reach the top before they turn the motor off
I think we can these days replace them with different chips - I'll have the datasheet somewhere for them - let me try and dig it up... actually I just checked and it's one of these

and I have the dumps and decodes for both chips - the dumps are labelled DoorIn and DoorOut - happy to share!
