Blimey - that's a good quote! I went to AutoTech in Sutton, Surrey, and he broke some interesting news to me.
My 4.2's a half-hide, 6yrs old, so has the "canvass" stuff where there's no hide. He was telling me the only parts of the car actually leather are the "perforated" parts - in other words, the seat base (the bit your bum sits on), the centre seat back (the bit your spine pushes against, the centre console armrest for the driver, and same parts of the back seats.
Apparently the rest if vinyl?
Is that true?
Either way, he quoted me £600 to have both front seats completely recovered in biscuit leather - about 3-4 days work.
I was also quite interested in having the "canvass" parts replaced with leather/vinyl to change the car to all hide interior.
I'm down at APM this Saturday so will ask Andy for his thoughts - thanks for the lead - I'll let you know how I get on.
