The 'government' is about to spend £ 7 billion on roads. Why not double the speed limit and half the time everyone is on the road....use money to buy 150,000 new cerbies which should be allowed to go at 3 times the speed limit. Ergo....clear roads again. Mind you - everyone would need a bit more practice on emergency braking! Horses would have to be banished from our roads under this scenario!

Further propose that as speed cameras would not be required these could be sold off to another big brother country. Revenue generated could pay for advanced driving training courses.

alans..some good ideas...may I take them a step further and suggest pistonheads merges with the American Rifle Association. Gun toting Bush would then fight our corner and get his sidekick to relook at our speed limits!
