2nd car to the main event....
Discussion
I thought I would take some soundings as to what people use day to day as looking for a change from my R32 (Mk5) as a daily drive when not using the 599.... thinking of M3 (E92 4 door) or XFR or something else... what do you drive / find the best combination...
Thank you for your inspiration....

i've got an M4 to supplement the F430, performance wise they're pretty similar, however the drive and experience is completely different... i still get the some of the looks, sound and performance (and practicality) if i need 4 seats with the M4 but then i still get that special car feeling when i go for a blast in the Ferrari. I recently did a trip to Disneyland Paris (via Reims) int he M4 with the missus and our 3 year old, i'd have flown if i'd have to drive in her Tiguan lol
great combo IMO

Seconded on the M4! I have the F83 convertible that was my daily when I was living and working in the UK. My main event is my brand new Huracan.
The M4 is comfortable, pretty spacious, offers plenty of performance. I guess it could be sketchy in winter, but other than heavy snow just drive to the conditions and should be fine.

I'd say get one of these:
Alpina B3/B3 S

They're great drivers cars (I'm bias as I have a D3) & the ride is superb as is the handling, they're also not lacking in go either.
Oh & you can get them as a touring too or an alternative is the RS3 but it really doesn't compare.

Used to have a C63 which I swapped the day before I collected the Huracan, although the intent was to keep it (a combination of shoddy build quality and shoddy MB dealership behaviour changed this). My daily is now a Maserati GranTurismo, coupled with a Defender (the latter having signed its own death warrant by landing me with ANOTHER 3 grand bill - so I'll probably end up with another Volvo...).

Great combo. Is that a Cerbera hiding in the garage? The M4 is comfortable, pretty spacious, offers plenty of performance. I guess it could be sketchy in winter, but other than heavy snow just drive to the conditions and should be fine.
If only they made an M4 estate. Ironically picking 'the main event' is the easy bit, it's finding a suitable secondary that i find so hard... (and one the Mrs would be satisfied 'owning')
I need to swap my C63 for something more practical (estate/hatch rather than saloon), don't really wanna swap for a C63 estate as it's a bit 'old man' for me.
Any suggestions?

Thank you. Its actually a 96' Chimaera 400, completely standard and original. Not exactly the pinnacle of performance these days but they still make a noise to die for! Fantastic fun to blow the cobwebs away on a nice dry sunny day Minnsy14 said:

Ah wasn't sure. I had a 96' 4ltr Chim in Paris Blue for a few years when I was in my 20's. Lovely thing until it came across a pile-up on the M10 late one night. Car was a real mess afterwards but amazingly the cockpit was untouched. I walked away with nothing but regret that I'd just spent money out on a service and ally dashboard the day before! Was written off but found out it was back on the road a year or so later. The insurance paid the deposit on my first house, I remember that Interesting to hear a couple of you have M4's. I would be interested to hear what you think of them as when i test drove one when they were first released I was very disappointed in it.
I have a new Range Rover Sport that i use daily which I love and a California T for the weekend, but keep toying with the idea of giving the RRS to the Mrs and buying an M4 although i haven't been in one since i first test drove one when they first came out so would love to hear your thoughts.
