As we now have Lambo's on the forum,
Anyone any idea what a Diablo costs to run a year?Is it about the same as a 348 or 355 or substantially more?

£2.5 to £4k for a clutch every 5,000 miles was enough for me not to look into ownership costs in any further detail.

Substantially more, from what I understand. I was told the same thing as Daz regarding clutch, except that some have been known to need a change every 3K miles. With what I was told regarding running one of these, by the owner/seller of one, I legged it in the opposite direction. Shame coz it was a LHD yellow beauty 1992 car, for only £32,000. That was two years ago. Not quite as useable as the Ferraris IMO. Don't like the dealers in london (they sell Ferraris too) either, but thats another story.

London dealer doesn't like me much.....
But having seen and heard a black Lamborghini Diablo GT, pretty much any running costs this side of an F50 are worth it.
BTW I was actually told £4K for a clutch.

I am very tempted by a Diablo for my next car.Don't think that anything other than an F40 would have the same appeal to me.
Steve

I have owned a 1992 Diablo for a couple of years and had a Countach QV for 4 years before that. In my experience Lambos are cheaper to run than Ferrari's overall as they don't need cambelt changes every 3 years.

I've not had any big bills for the Diablo as yet (fingers crossed!). The clutch issue is a bit of a myth as it depends on how you treat it. I know someone in the club who has racked up 30000 miles on the same clutch no problem.

Running costs for Diablos obviously depend on where you take them for servicing but specialist annual services are about £800-1000.

I read an article today of a Diablo owner who loved the car to bits but...

Wheel bearings £800
New Front Bumper £9500

..he also said that the F355 was quicker on the track and his previous NSX was quicker on the road for everyday use!

But then you don't buy a Diablo for being practicle right? :-) I'd like one, but the article I read has put me right off!

..Gorgeous looking & sounding car!!!!!!

Oh please oh please oh please. If there's going to be a Lambo there I'll def. come!

A Lambo is the *one* car that I have always always wanted. I've got a "bet" going with the CEO that may get me one if I can pull off some total magic in the "deal making" area, but apart from that I just have to dream.

Right - I'm inspired - off to hedge some more stock mesa thinks

Love this site, you can find details on anything you need. How does the Lambo stand up for build? I wasn't impressed with the build (external and internal) of the car that I saw (92) but heard that they have been improved on the later cars.

Also, how many miles do you do a year?
