Hi guys,

A Red Ferrari Enzo has been destroyed in a spectacular crash on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu this morning.

Thankfully no one was killed and the only injury was a cut lip from the airbag deploying.

Initial reports suggest that the car was travelling at over 200mph when it left the road.

You can click the link below to view the video.

Warning there is not much left of the car !!!!

Hi there,

Thank you very much for the link.

What a terrible waste of such a beautiful car, but how...how do you lose control in a straight line? There's plenty of straight either side of the crash area. Maybe an animal? Or a blowout?

Good to see the passenger area esentially remaning instact this time, but we shouldn't be seeing this stuff! Enzo's should not be crashed.

Cheers,
Al

At least he was pushing the car and enjoying himself, instead of sticking it in an air conditioned museum and never ever driving it.

The news reporter said that the car was doing 200mph, but i dont think so, especialy with the two guys walking away. Also the reporter said that the engine that was ripped away was indeed a V8 with 16 valves

At least these guys survived. Unlike the poor guy in the fatal Enzo crash in Italy last year.

Did anyone every discover any more about the driver of the Italy car?

This (Malibu) Enzo has after market wheels fitted. Who knows what else it had done to it.

We all know how the Americans love their modified cars.

Thank God that nobody was harmed this time.

Are you sure that's not just an MR2?

The car apparently got slightly airborne going over a crest.
There does appear to be a bit of a dip or two in the picture.

On a serious note, what a tribute to Ferrari's engineers and designers, pushing 200mph and walking away with most of the cockpit intact....i feel soo much safer now

That's the best news journalism I've ever seen.

At the beginning it says "fatal crash" on the subtitle, they go on to say no-one was killed.

But the ultimate comment from the "anchorman".

Someone may have been driving that thing

That Sir, is certainly true.

I'm not sure I did miss the point, that comment stands as one of many moronic errors in a very short space of time. As such I'll choose to believe that it was an error rather than that the guy suddenly gets an attack of biting knife sharp sarcasm, which he promptly loses for the remainder of the piece.

So it does seem to confirm it is the same Stefan Eriksson that previously raced at Le Mans and was caught up in some scandal re Gizmondo.

Rather amusing given that comments on the other thread re his driving skills.

Ah, but you miss the point, Dobbo. The "driver" was found in the passenger seat claiming the "real" driver had fled the scene, if only he could remember his name and why he gave his million dollar car to a stanger for a joy ride. Blood was on the driver's deployed airbag and on his, "the passenger," head, but none on the passenger side of the disassembled Enzo.

its an oldie but a goody

If he said that without any irony you can be sure he isn't working as a reporter anymore!

So he keeps his job thanks to the delicious (undetecable) irony in his voice... Meanwhile I assume the guy who wrote the "fatal crash" subtitle gets his marching orders, along with the guy who mentioned the "16valve v8 engine"?

I think over exposure to the US press is lowering your standards....

And that exact stretch of road past Decker Canyon was used in a key scene in The Fast and the Furious.

I'm curious which scene was it? Sounds like it could be a good place to visit if there is racing all the time.

The owner had 2 enzos, that red one, and a black one with black wheels.

Both on uk plates

he sponsered and drove in the Gizmondo Ferrari 360 at Le Mans with Joe Macari. Lots of story about fraudulently extracting money from the company to fund his lifestyle (enzo's were on the companies books) payments to ficticious companies where he is a director. I believe Gizmondo went bankrupt a few months ago

Fair presumption to say Macari probably sourced both cars.....

Do you know the registration numbers of the two cars as I have a list of all the known UK Enzos?
Thanks.
