Did Tom sell the orange GTR? I thought that was Dion, Elms Collection? Also, was it repainted after DK got the wrong shade of orange all over it?
2 seperate orange GTR's = Dion sold #16R, TH sold #14R

Unsure as to your other question - here are some pictures of it getting that paint http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost... and the owners reasons as to why http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showpost...
Is the orange DK car the one that originally raced in Fina livery? If so, this is currently a three seater in road trim.

It was one of the two GTRs that raced in FINA livery (#17R was the other one).

I'd be quite surprised if the third seat has been added back to the car - not an impossible task on the '95 GTRs, but on the '96 version which has more stuff in the footwell on that side it would require quite a lot of fuss to add a true third seat to the area to the right of the driver.

Do you have any pictures showing the newly configured interior because that would be something to see.

Afraid not, as I would receive an almighty arsekicking. I was having a peek in it a couple of weeks ago.

Okay - understood. Perhaps I'll send the owner a note and see if he cares to satisfy my curiosity.

I hope the owner has not opted for an unrealistically sized RH side seat belt and passenger seat. If the car is already equipped with a LH pass seat, stick with it. I do not see the point in messing around with butchering the RH side of the car to enable a 2 foot height person to fit in.

Quite, plus a properly designed exhaust system with correct CATS shouldn't cause a huge loss of power.

On that day above, bruntingthorpe, the car 100% did not have an extra 3rd seat fitted. The car did not sell via DK or elms either but dealt direct with the previous owner.

The silver 993 in the background is on the front page of this months. Total 911, one of five RHD 993 RSR's (club sports)

The only notable I interior change was newly covered leather seat with a flash or orange.

Car was used properly that day and was trucked straight back to Woking for a new clutch.

Thanks for the info - if you happen to see it again have a peek in that interior. wink

I knew this car is looked after directly by McLaren and I doubt they'd get involved with adding a third seat to a GTR. Stranger things have happened though. biggrin

Its my mates car and its only got 2 seats.

I put a 3rd one in my GTR when i got it so I could take both kids out in it. Now gone back to just the 2 seats after the rebuild.

From the recent pics of the anniversary run(I think Peleton posted?), that's the one I would choose....bloomin sublime.

Why does every F1 thread descend into something resembling a trainspotter thread?

He said the transaction occurred in 1996 in his original post. Atkinson's #061 wasn't built until 1997 and he has been the only owner.

Chassis #017 then - which I believe was originally David Morrison's and then met a terrible fate with Christopher Dawes behind the wheel in the rain, killing him and his two passengers. Such a shame.

That could well be the car, there was talk of it being repainted another colour but not sure it happened....
