Q to OP - I know you said at the start that AM was not a consideration - but as someone who's cross shopping 911/570/Portifino/Vantage - I'm wondering if I too am missing something?
They are beautiful looking cars (not the newest however) but they just don't do it for me. I want something sporty not a GT cruiser really. DanG355 said:
Head says latest NSX in black.
Heart says McLaren 650s or even a 720s.
NSX is a no go as nowhere other than London for servicing. Heart says McLaren 650s or even a 720s.
Driven a 650s now, also been out in a GT3 4litre, and also eyes on a couple of 570S. Prices definitely softened, some by 5 grand since I started the thread.

I think one of these must be worth a look took as much newer than 650s and 570s with more warranty and all the benefits of a virtually brand new Mac. Ridiculous VFM

My choice, the Emira and spend the change touring Portugal ????
Bom viagem!
Ive been on the emira forum since launch, superb looking car, shocking service from lotus in terms of communication/support, and way too many teething troubles and issues for me to be tempted. Prices are heading south, think there are 40-60 cars for sale already, many from cancelled orders/ handbacks Bom viagem!
Such a shame as its a stunning car.
Yep the Emira is a stunning car to look at no question but it is such a shame the looks flatter to deceive with lots of underlying issues and Lotus have definitely missed a fantastic opportunity. I cancelled my pre price increase (£75995) V6 FE March 23 delivery ordered in July 21.
Pal has a 2022 DV Emira V6 having had so many issues with it he only risks using it for a short commute locally to work and has and will never take it for weekend drives or road trips for fear of getting stranded.
I still have the option on an I4 dct but will likely cancel and maybe pick up a later run heavily depreciated V6 FE manual next winter when they are c £50k ish.
Crying shame for sure.

Having driven one I was hugely disappointed, yes it looks epic, I'd say it sounds good too, but it felt slow, damn slow, my 987.2 Spyder manual which I drove to the test drive in not only felt more punchy and exciting but handled better with better steering feel.Pal has a 2022 DV Emira V6 having had so many issues with it he only risks using it for a short commute locally to work and has and will never take it for weekend drives or road trips for fear of getting stranded.

As such the Emira simply cannot contend with a supercar, it is missing one of the main elements which is firepower and to me that 400PS engine in the Emira felt more like 300PS, it was slow and I had the car in track mode, was also pretty annoyed by the 6800rpm rev limit, by comparison my Exige 410 felt so much quicker, crazy consider same engine but in the Emira the extra weight just blunts the performance.
I cancelled my order, be a nice daily but then all the issues would make it a headache as a daily and as a fun weekend car I was unimpressed, it is a great all rounder but should never be compared to a McLaren or a Ferrari it is simply not remotely close, by comparison my 360 manual for same money is faster, better gear change and as a whole far more an event to drive, its 23 years old, I wanted Lotus to succeed but for me its not a special car as looks alone cannot make a car special, as a daily its great once they fix the issues. When they are 50k which they will be soon, they will be a somewhat used bargain, tune the engine a bit and try to get some weight out of it.
