nice car matt, but to get one in the 'right' colour, i would probably have to wait til the fall...

on that notion, do coupe prices fall significantly in autumn/winter?

No they go up. Spyder prices drop in the winter.

you sold yours for 88... wasn;t it a 560-4? i'll cry if i missed out on that!!
I personally don't think the extra few horsepower and lower gearing makes the 06 car worth so much more than a similar mileage pre-06 car. I have driven both and noticed little difference, but perhaps that's just me.

And to enduce the tears, i have replaced my 04 G with an 09 560-4, 4k miles, black with orange quilted leather, full carbon, branding etc etc for which i pad the princely sum of GBP91k.

But then i have moved to Dubai. cool

I noticed little difference between the pre and post 06 cars, although others do - perhaps i didn't spend as much time in the 06-on car. Reliability has often been mentioned, but mine had no issues at all in the 4 years i owned it.

On the other hand, the difference between the G and the 560 is noticeable. The 560 is way quicker, suspension seems better sorted, the e-gear a joy and generally feel better screwed together, though i have no idea why. Obviously subjective, but i perfer the styling too.

Hey matey.
If i could get out of work more, and if the weather got better when out of said work i could tell you
a lot more. biggrin
From my VERY limited use of the 06 i reckon there`s not that much different as far as the basic feel.
Something i need to do is try and find out exactly what was upgraded on the 06 model`s.
So not wanting to mention things and then find out that they would be the same cos they weren`t changed. biggrin
Let me just say for me it may be that it must be better cos it`s two years younger.
It would be a lot easier if i had got a manual 06 6 sp coupe, which would then be the 04/06 comparison.

Egear for me is just excellent, and i`m a manual man to the core.I just love the gear shifter on the steering column, and the instant gear change.
Add to that this car is a spyder ,exhaust, which is stock at the mo biggrin does sound kinda good at 4k revs.Gawd know`s what it will sound like with the decat gtr tubi.
The other things that make this car different from my 04 and which really get my attention and are nothing LAMBORGHINI, are the nav track constantly beeping, and the speed camera/lazer thingy beeping.
Both my 04 and 06 have very similar mileage.
So recap.
Shocks suspension seem the same.
steering /braking " " .
Throttle response / take off, improved, maybe an egear thing biggrin
Rusty bolts and screws the same,in exactly the same location, god i love stainless.
Aircon seems better in 06 biggrin.
Insurance is the same, yep the same££
road tax ,not the feckin same.
mpg seems the same.
Colour, not the same ,but both black.biggrin (SORRY UHMATT)

I liked the idea of a spyder so had to be 06+
I reckon if i wanted a coupe i would have no prob with an 04/05 .
It really is about the ££ /spec/miles/condition/history.
Like, there are probably nicer 04 cars out there than some 06/07.
Cars a, it`s a game eh .
None of this may be true, just imho, flame suit is not on cos it`s buggered.
Cheers guys
ps chris, speak soon.

thanks mate, great feedback....

unless a perfect spec 04/05 comes up at a cracking price, i'll continue to persue an 06...
i've got another very long week as the seller of the car i'm after is away!! why me all the time...

i agree with you, changes are likely to be subtle, the 03/04 was never a bad model, got good reviews at launch, so upgrades were going to be minor...

enjoy sunday, is meant to be a belter!!

ps. did your legacy that a better car would come up 2 weeks later come true, or have you stopped looking at the classifieds.

Hey mate,no nothing has slapped me round the face yet, well apart from my car,key fob behaving bad,
and sunday noticed a nice crack in the lower part of the windscreen,no stone chip near that area.
Went for a blast anyway, nice, starting to get used to the egear.
I`m not turning on the wipers or indicators so much now biggrin
The onboard computer seems screwed at the mo,something to do with the low battery in the fob.
body control unit may need a reset.no biggie just kinda puts you on edge when its a new to me car
waiting for something else to turn up.
hope to have the screen replaced soon, not good having someone else rip into all the stuff that needs to come off the car to do the replacement.
Might be able to do that myself and get A/glass round to do just the screen,at the mo i have to take it to them.
anyways i like this, but again not sure if i would price wise ,i would then think add another 10/12k
and get an 08.seem`s for me its 80k or 100k nothing in between.

this seems a nice car, very similar to mine, more miles but lets me know i got a reasonable deal on mine
privately, which should be the case with no warranty ,backup etc.

cheers bud

the power of the google cache..... this car was sold about 2 months ago..... and i am very interested, spec seems good..... what do you guys think i should offer....current ad...i know prices are going up, but even he''s trying to make a profit!!!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2877082.htm
so as not to hijack frank's thread about what his car is worth..... on a similar note then, having brought from a dealer weeks ago, what hit would you expect to take trading back in or selling privately shortly after, allowing for fact that you can transfer the warranty?

I just paid a little less for a 2008 without carbon ceramic brakes. In my opinion the interior alone is worth the premium! biggrin

Not to sure about that, a trader I deal with was offered this car today, he's looking at an Audi apparently, so can't be away. Did you not get the PPI done?
