Just bringing things back to the car - having seen it in the metal last night at the Leeds launch, pretty disappointed by a couple of little details, first the passenger foot wells are no longer metal as in CS and Scud but have now gained feux metal plastic covers, and also as have recent other models we have the fake 'saxmax' over sized exhaust tips, come on Ferrari this is supposed to be a work of art not a Focus RS

It was not on my radar.. How ever I have good contact at the Factory going back to 98 when I was the lead sponsor to the F1 team that is now LHs. I have complained to the factory about the way my 458SP order has been dealt with. Looks like I can now have an early RHD, With regard to the La Ferrari, Maybe

The F1 team and Drivers at the time had massive amount of input into the 430 Scud. I think it was KR who had the final say on the suspension. I just don't see this level of input in the SP..IMHOI well recall the comment from the head of aero at the time... please don't think of the SCUD as a 430...It just happens to be the body that we have at the time....I had the 1st one in the UK...Got kicked of 4 track days...128db, The only Ferrari I have ever driven that felt it had more power than quoted.....

I thought it was MS as the button to change the suspension setting on its own was often referred to as the MS button. I could be wrong though.APOLO1 said:
The 458 is a good car, for me its not a great car...I had a good run in 458SP a few months back.....struggled to shake off a well driven M3V8.
As far as I understand, there is currently only ONE 458 Speciale that Ferrari have produced - the car that is doing the rounds now! How did Mr APOLO1 manage to drive it, months before the launch?????? Is he the STIG??Edited by APOLO1 on Tuesday 8th October 07:38
It's getting a bit like 'Through the keyhole....

128db ? What zorst did you put on, I found it fairly quiet as stock, certainly not as loud as a 458.I well recall the comment from the head of aero at the time... please don't think of the SCUD as a 430...It just happens to be the body that we have at the time....I had the 1st one in the UK...Got kicked of 4 track days...128db, The only Ferrari I have ever driven that felt it had more power than quoted.....

had a good look at the speciale last night and i am impressed. the car is considerably improved over the standard italia and i doubt you will see fake versions driving around town in the future. its almost a new car visually and really looks "speciale" lol
previous road race versions (strad and scud) have not differed too much from the standard car visually so its nice to see huge design features applied to the new car. you used to get less and pay more, for the first time you're actually getting more for your money.
priced at 208k + options i think it about right but based on it being released so early in the 458's life cycle i expect production numbers to be quite high. strad and scuds were done end of line, especially the strad and kept quite exclusive.
im sold on it and couldn't give a hoot about depreciation as i use my cars.
