Never had one but thought they'd be fairly reliable?

Too old skool for an i8 (but astonished to learn they’re a 2+2, always assumed a two seater from the looks).

DB9. Fabulous - I think that’s the answer.
DB9 are fabulous but I don't think your 11 year-old will ever speak to you again, they're tiny in the back as are most 2+2's.

Be realistic, he's going to grow to be very adult-sized very quickly and most 2+2's are totally impractical for rear passengers. The i8 is a great call and the Maserati Grantourismo would be perfect as they do have proper full-sized seats in the back. A Conti GT would also be suitable as would something like an M4 or M6 BMW otherwise you're looking at the fast 4-door options such as the Rapide, Quatroportte, or Panamera.

if you're lucky you might be able to find an MC Strad with the rear seat option around that price

Not really a sports car, but they sound very very nice. See Harry M video.
Didn’t do the car any favors by taking pics on a white background - the colour is stunning in the sun

Loved mine, didn't put a foot wrong for 5.5years, sounds great, goes great, handles great, loads of torque. Very engaging and never failed to make me smile. Also a load of independents around to help service and look after it etc. If it's not fast enough it's easy to make as fast as you want. Bonus it held its money very well

Your on the cusp of an S63AMG coupe at that price.

Try one, if you don’t buy it on the spot I’ll send you a virtual pint.

Another vote for a Maserati Granturismo or Quattroporte. Even a Gran Cabrio.

456 Ferrari if you are feeling brave!

All the newer stuff the rear seats are not great. Old 6 series are great in the rear but 840 newer and less precious. I sat for a good while in the rear of a 928 last weekend with no issues. All depreciation proof too.

Maybe not exactly what your looking for but have a try in an Alfa Guilia Quadrifoglio.
Budget May allow a 2019 one with still 3yrs warranty left.
They are superb and pretty special with all the carbon and “Ferrari” engine
I was going to say the same. Wonderful cars.

Quattroporte 3.8TT V8, basically a re cranked 488 motor in front engine format. Torquey and prove that turbocharged engines can sound great.

Not had a sniff of issues with mine, touch wood. Mine is slightly lowered with wheel spacers and a stage one tune to 600bhp (ish).

The dual intercoolers sometimes struggle on long pulls at 47 degrees C here in Dubai but all turbocharged cars struggle at those temps. Not going to be an issue in UK/Eu.

I can imagine they`d look even more special in UK as Maseratis aren`t uncommon here.

Incredible engine, just sold our S63 Saloon (5.5) and went straight out to buy the cabriolet, tested everything else and nothing came close.

The rears are deceptively comfy - no complaints from passengers so far smile

840? I meant its a better daily proposition as its newer and less precious :-)
