Rob is possibly the exception to the rule and funnily enough most of the crazy antics on DVD seem to feature him.
Has anybody heard from Rob, I heard he had gone bankrupt. Ran a plate check on his old plate (CPU 1) and it was on a VW Polo now
that doesnt sound too promising

Rob's fine, runs a company called Riti performace now. Sold his GT-2 and when I last spoke to him a few days ago was putting his plate on an SL55 AMG.
He was also talking about buying a Silver Spur for the next gumball (with a few choice mods).
that sounds like a man with either heaps of money or no money at all .. whichever it is, top choice cars, top man!

The GT2 sold at auction ages ago , for ~ 44k was in a bad way
Rob is a great driver, trouble on the Gumball is others try to keep up with him! I heard he had invested in the Gizmondo, i wondered if he was behind joe Macaris entry into last years Le Mans? Would be great to have him back on the Gumball. Wasnt he going to do the Ulitmate Rally? last i heard it had been postponed.

what was up with it?
Is the gumball on ATM then or is this old news? I thought it was a summer thing. If the former I'm so pleased that that bastion of sensible and subtle on the road behaviour that gives us sports car drivers such a good reputation is back on.

I think it's due to start on the 1st May 2006, however it seems to have become all about how much money and what car you have as opposed to how you can actually drive...
Rally starts Sunday 30th April from Central London. most common car entered this year? Murcielago! Theres a real mix of people on the event, they get pigeon holed easily but there are some amazing drivers, some bad drivers and some people who just want to have fun and dont do any speeding. Trouble is the ones who make the headlines are the bad drivers. The guys in th CLK DTM where just streets ahead of anyone and very good drivers, smooth and fast, the co-pilot had binoculars to see as far up the roads as possible!
