Love your optimism GRBF....but if you think the 650s will hold its price you are in for one big shock!! Same applies to the Huracan by the way - too much production nowadays, and too much competition -there's something new every 6 months coming out, and the really big spenders don't worry much about losing £50k in 6 months in order to get the newest and best. The 650s was shown at Geneva in March 2014 and Spiders which came out of the factory 6 months ago with a retail price of £245k are now up for £189k with at least another £10k off if you ask. Enjoy it but don't try convincing anyone here that it makes financial sense....
The numbers seem to get lower on every post. In a minute McLaren will literally be paying customers to take the car away Hey, guess I'm just a big spending high roller then and if I lose £50k that will be compensated by the 430 Scuderia and Performante gains ( which everyone else said was going to take a tanking ). Mmmmmm maybe my judgement isn't that bad afterall - anyway off to buy a 2nd 650S before they all sell out

I'll always buy the cars i want, couldn't give a fk if it goes up or down tbh. I work hard to make money & I'd make a crap car dealer anyway!!
For example I sold an appreciating 991gt3 to buy a depreciating 12c Spider!! ??
Don't worry we have all been there. I share your view that you buy the car you want and then enjoy it. If by some miracle it keeps its price or appreciates that is a bonus. I find it most amusing that some people try to justify their purchase as an investment. For example I sold an appreciating 991gt3 to buy a depreciating 12c Spider!! ??
if one buys a keeper, because it is the perfect mistress, tickling the right parts, then it really does not matter how much she cost, and what she will be worth, she's a keeper, end of....
if one buys an investment, then values are more important that what the car does for you.... for it to gain, you probably cant drive it anyway as mileage = bad!
if one buys a car for short term gain - both autoemotion and back pocket, then how it drives and values are important.... but then it has to be short term and you have to sell the damn thing, so you gain and you loose....
life's too short to worry whats best, worth more, etc etc etc etc ..... just buy what you can push to and enjoy it as you want....
I bought a going out of date, 2wd audi, it might be slower and less technical than some of the more modern stuff, heck its ring lap time is probably embarrassing, but I'm a happy man.....
if the huracan floats your boat, then its a great car, end of...... why so many, simples.... overproduction.... none of these supercars will be as rare as in the past, they don't take weeks to build by hand... just like rolex's, common as muck now..... long live limited editions!! and why unsold..... its a complicated market now..... you can get a sub 5s SUV now, hot hatch, etc etc... faster lap time from a GTR.... the market place is bigger, that's why the huracan is more a everyday car, for the global market pleasing hard core petrolheads is not the primary selling point any more.... for a rich young Chinese kid his first car has to be something that wont kill him.... enter the huracan.....

Absolutely and good on you. As good as the 991 GT3 is and a bargain in performance terms its still not as good IMHO as a 12C spiderFor example I sold an appreciating 991gt3 to buy a depreciating 12c Spider!! ??

so, you're saying that the green ones are best ?if one buys an investment, then values are more important that what the car does for you.... for it to gain, you probably cant drive it anyway as mileage = bad!

Agree with above and for me the 650S spider is a definite keeper so I don't actually give a hoots what its worth despite what everyone else thinks. Its ticks all my boxes and is such an accomplished all round car with no compromises that I can find. It will sit nicely next to the F355GTSif one buys an investment, then values are more important that what the car does for you.... for it to gain, you probably cant drive it anyway as mileage = bad!

430 Scuderia and LP570-4 Performante will probably be moved on when the time/place is right whether that be gain or loss. Preferrably gain but I don't see them as keepers keepers

Only seconded by yours. I can buy any car I like so why should it biased,
Just because I own one I'm not on McLarens payroll, or Ferrari's or Lambo's ?
See you did take the bait!! Knew you would be back. It must be wonderful that every car you buy is the best on the market (after you have bought it of course!).Just because I own one I'm not on McLarens payroll, or Ferrari's or Lambo's ?

Yes admittedly I do have a great track record. Just like Jeremy Clarkson said all the cars he has bought are classics but he just got the timing wrong. He buys high and sells low, but they are classics nonetheless. Can't get them all right and at least 5 of the cars I have sold on are worth a darn site more now than when I sold them. Was in the wrong change cycle and it cost me a lot of money over the years but now I have sorted that out I'm not doing so bad thankfully.
