I have to say the Ferrari is leaving me very.... meh. Uninspired really. It will aslo be interesting which company can actually live up to the numbers, when tested in the real world... I seem to remember Ferrari have a nasty habit of bending the truth rather a lot.

I'm just very happy companies are still making these things. Hopefully posters of them will be on the walls of youngsters around the world to inspire them. Bit like the Countach, F40 and Panther 6 did for me.

Abso-frigging-lutely fantastic. I think this is a much better looking car than the P1 or OTT Lambo thing.

Such perfect proportions, really REALLY love this:

But I shall henceforth refer to it as the F70. I refuse to acknowledge that ridiculous name.
Agreed on the name, F70 it is thumbup

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/geneva-motor-sho...

Autocar quote the inevitable 'insider' for this marvellous ilustration of apparent insecurity among the mega wealthy - “The price and performance are secondary to the exclusivity for many buyers. The last thing a buyer of this kind of car wants is to pull up to a hotel and find someone else has an identical car, and they also want to know that the exclusivity is there to make it likely the cars will appreciate in value in time...We want them to be used for the purpose they have been engineered for. It isn’t just a case of writing a cheque – there is a process of evaluation to go for.”

I'd love to know what sort of 'evaluation' McLaren has in mind! Aptitude test, assault course maybe?! For what it's worth, surely with all the personalisation on offer, pretty much every example of the LaFerrari or P1 will be aesthetically unique anyway? No doubt some mechanical customisation will be available too during the vehicles' lifetimes.

All joking aside, I wouldn't even know where to begin in trying - as a dreamer - to pick between the P1 and LaFerrari. How could there ever be a loser in such a debate? Just have both instead! I'm sure some very lucky people will.

And so far on this thread no mention of the electric motors!

I seem to remember it being mentioned on the first page of the P1 thread.

Or are Ferrari electric motors ok for the PH Anti Hybrid Brigade? :-)

Has anyone got one of these, the P1 or the 918 Spyder on order?
Didnt Maff say he'd been to look at one?

A little further than looking no? Decided on spec too IIRC.

As the fixed F70 seat is "tailored to the owner" at purchase time it might make resale a bit of a challenge. Mind you, it's also an incentive not to get fat I suppose.

Tosh. A new owner would love a trip to Maranello for a £10k seat fitting... Part of the buying experience on a car that is probably always going to be worth north of £750k, min...

Jeez lighten up. I just thought it was an interesting and unusual aspect of the new F-car story.

Also prefer the P1. Something not quite right styling wise with the F70.

In general I like it. Although from the side view it has more of a hint of an Aventador.... Can't be a bad thing admittedly BUT this IS Ferarri's Halo. IMO despite its tech they could've tried ALOT harder. Look at the Veneros.....

Give me a lottery win and a P1. (Just my .2c) but hype has not lived up to reality. I truely am dissapointed.

Surely you mean you have a newfound freedom to get fat? There are more than a few pork pies being consumed by a few buyers I know hehe

Each to their own but the styling is too fussy for me, not that I'll ever in a position to own one.
