Unusual F40 owner!
Discussion
Low interest rates and the absence of investment opportunities yielding a decent risk adjusted return are off course adding to the increasing value in classic cars but compared to the 1980ties there is one fundamental difference. The market has increased dramatically. India, Russia and the Far East now have an appetitive for classic cars where before this was something largely reserved for europeans and americans.

No one bidded on it.
Any particular reason for your change of heart ?A good F40 is 500k, average ones from 300ish upwards. More like 325k. There's a big difference between one F40 and another in terms of what they make in the market. Mileage, condition etc.
I just sold my 275 having doubled my money in a little over 2y. I think prices are silly. At some point the music will stop. I wouldn't pay 1.75m for a 275! There will be more and more people balking at current prices and then what happens....

It would appear that the car has now turned up at Landmark Cars in London at £395k. I couldn't get the salesman to confirm the chassis number to verify that it was the same as the auction one, but there can't be too many 3 owner, Italy-sourced F40s with a sound system, and a classiche certificate. I have been after an adjustable model for a while, bucking the trend, for driveability reasons. It would seem I was late for the party as I was told that it sold within a day or so of it turning up at Landmark, presumably at or near the asking price.
You work for Landmark don't you...Fair cop... it would have been easier to get info on their car if I did work there. The guy on the phone seemed reluctant to part with much info on service history etc once I asked him whether it was the car that didn't sell at Goodwood. As I am on holiday in Asia, I couldn't go down to look at it myself, so was a little curious whether anyone here had a view.
