Congrats - will look forward to hearing more about it.
Capristo are about the best you can get but at a price. Quicksilver are getting good reviews and are quite reasonably priced. There is a simple 'disconnect' mod you can do to the stock exhaust that keeps the valves open permanently, but doesn't make a huge difference.,
there is another one called "stalis" or something ? also scorpion? , soooooo many .Capristo are about the best you can get but at a price. good news guys & thanks for help ,tried to not do my normal & just buy, but I have again without seeing it !!
however I did listen & spent more than I should to get a safer bet in long run & got it off dealer …
will pick it up in couple of weeks ..
will keep you posted ….
what is a good exhaust for these as don't sound that good to be honest , do any come up for sale on here used ?
I have been told quicksilver / capristo / miltec ??????
can you get the original exhaust modified to sound better as that what I done on my 997, they altered it so it sounds like its in sport mode all the time , very nice job..

Milltek does not get great write ups for build quality but it is cheaper
I’ve heard good things about TopGear but never seen it heard one
Quicksilver do a normal one, a much louder one and a switchable. Honestly the loud one supersport is absurdly loud. The switchable one goes as loud as that but obviously can be muted. The switchable one is louder than stock in quiet mode and sounds better. It also has titanium parts and a decent weight saving
Capristo and Tubi have a good rep but are significant money I didn’t listen to one as I couldn’t afford it at the time
it’s quite a ball ache to change the system on the R8 as rear bumper has to come off which is a few hours on and off.
I have to say it doesn’t sound as good as my old Maserati or a Ferarri or something like that but it can definitely liven up a lot with a new exhaust

JKM in Portsmouth fitted a Milltek to my friends R8 and they’re a little closer to home.

Mine had an eisenmann switchable and it sounded absolutely awesome. Stock noise closed, hells gates open in bypass :-)
what sort of money are these ?is it a hard process to fit , I have seen pics of lots of parts on the floor !!!

wont be getting that then ………so expensive , that must be the most expensive as I have seen brand new miltec for £1700 + fitting

Ricky used to do a deal where if you bought a Quicksilver system from him he’d fit it free. Not sure if that’s still going or not but worth an ask and got to be the cheapest way of getting one fitted
ok , I messaged him about looking when buying but he don't go to houses anymore it has to go to him … so didn't bother .ian-163jt said:

I would want to hear the others n the metal before buying, like I said before it isn't an amazing sounding engine compared to others and I wouldn't want to spend £7000 on it if it wasn't going to be a significant improvement over the cheaper options
I think it really makes sense to buy a car with one fitted if you can find one - much better value

Their customer service was fine but they didn't do an actual car service, just an MOT and a health check which came up 100% perfect. Ricky does my annual service however he gets Swindon Audi to do the MOT so may as well get my MOT done locally.I will give jkm a ring , thanks , what exhaust did he get & cost ?
He got a Milltek but no idea on cost, sorry.

Not really - I've just heard that Miltek isn't the best quality

it seems you can most supplied and fitted for about £2700 (there are the more expensive ones like premium models) but I may look for 2nd hand one as few on e bay , not in a rush , the trouble is when looking for car its hard enough , then trying to get the right exhaust / colour / owners etc for the sake of £2700 and at least its new !I would want to hear the others n the metal before buying, like I said before it isn't an amazing sounding engine compared to others and I wouldn't want to spend £7000 on it if it wasn't going to be a significant improvement over the cheaper options

just have to get some overtime in & try to not let wife see parcel , its hard enough hiding the car in storage as it is …...
