One/two cars have been delivered and as has been quoted over 80 cars have been ordered. If you get a view of the factory at present you can see another couple in build.

Now if you listened to Harry Metcalf’s review on the 760RS you will hear him say that he has already driven the Huayra. This is interesting because up to this point the belief was that no one outside of the factory had driven one yet. But when you consider Harry's relationship with the factory I don’t suppose we should be surprised. It just appears the factory has stipulated that nothing be published yet. Harry is also quoted as saying the review will be coming soon, so watch this space

My understanding was that from day one it was always three world championships. I remember seeing Lewis quote this somewhere a couple of years ago
Yep, it's always been 3 Drivers' Championships.

To a man of Hamiltons means I wouldn't of thought free McLaren F1 would be much of a motivator?

One has to be what, a months wages?

It isnt about the money - its an F1 GTR whch Lewis has lusted after since he was a kid. Ron has said all along that if Lewis was to win three F1 World titles the GTR at the factory would be given to Lewis.

It is a 'money cant buy it' car because Ron will not sell it. Either Lewis gets it or Ron keeps it.

As for the 760RS - what a car. The noise at 07.56 as Harry comes down the hill is out of this world. As is the noise as Harry goes back up the hill!!!!

Sorry to correct you but Harry did not drive the car during that video, it was Horacio at the wheel the whole time. Unless you know that he did drive it off camera. His revelation in this latest 760RS video is the first time someone outside of the factory has confessed to having driven a Huayra

Fair enough, I didn't watch it again before posting the link.

From what I understand Lewis is on a base salary of 10m euros per year (the same as Button). This was revealed in an article detailing what each F1 driver earns (in 2011). For comparison Di Resta was on 500k euros:

I imagine the sponsorship deals in place elevate this greatly however.

It's the F1 LM from the display inside the MTC. Five made (apparently) and this was the one Ron kept.

Yes, only 5 made. The one at Mclaren is XPLM - the prototype LM smile

Very rare and quite literally priceless.

And quite frankly pornographic to look at.

Lets be honest, its a win win for Ron. What is Lewis going to do with it if/when he gets it? Who is going to look after it? Its going to stay right there at the factory most of the time, on prominant display, just with the little note changed, which will now say something like "the famous car in that Lewis Hamilton won from Ron Dennis after their bet about 3 world championships." Hell, it just makes the car more famous, generates more and better PR for Macca and they basically keep the car anyway.

...until Lewis takes it to Lanzante for servicing because he can probably get a more cost effective deal! laugh

On a more serious note, I'm not the biggest Hamilton fan; to be honest I find him very hard to warm to, especially in comparison with Button (unfair, I know, especially as I've never actually met him). But, it's always clear to me that he has maximum respect for the history of the McLaren team, and its past masters (particularly the Senna F1 car he was clearly thrilled to drive on Top Gear). So if he ever did get his hands on the F1 LM, I think / hope he'd drive it on a regular basis. Put it this way, I don't think it would remain a static display model for long!
