it is wiser to go for an F40, okay 130k plus to buy,

And the rest. You would be lucky to find a good F40 for less than £170K. There are a few dealers offering low mileage cars for close to £200K

When I purchase a Ferrari, I intend to use it every day. I have used my TVRs every day, and frankly I don't care what clients think if I turn up in one (Even a TVR gets commented on), how do they know what your priorities are and how you financed it ?

Mind you if it going to lose you money then just get a smart car or something... lol

Agree about dealers taking the piss, some of them are pretty arrogant, but I spose they need to make a buck - I think we all know that cars don't make financial sense ...... My Chim halved in value in 2 years, mind you I put over 40K miles on it....

Okay, my services aren't cheap but then you are getting the creme de la creme of what I believe is the best service on the market in my sector, similarly I can understand Ferrari dealers taking the same stance, however........I don't think I have been to one Prestige car dealer whom has merited such high margins for what is an incredibly poor service considering the sums involved.

Hence the position I'm in now, I actually think there is a good opportunity to get into the prestige car market and clean up!

I agree the dealers are taking the piss, and the frustrating part is knowing they will sell it on and make a killing. Typically at trade-in the dealer starts telling you the car is the "wrong colour" or it's the "wrong time of year" or some other boll**ks to justify his piss poor offer. Funny how they never mention this when buying.
The ideal solution is to sell privately and cut out the dealer margin, however most punters looking to buy this sort of car will need finance which you are unable to offer.
We all indulge our passion knowing it will cost but £18k is a bit steep in 9 months of ownership.
Try a private ad you may get a result!
Good Luck

Chris,

If your car is in immaculate, and I mean absolutely pristine condition, then I know of someone who is looking for 360 and is getting fed up with the condition of some of them, even in the showrooms.

He is in the same ballpark price wise as you are looking for. Is it RHD?

He is one of the Owners Club R.Os so is not a time waster.

Email me your contact number if you want and i will pass it on.

Buying from and selling to dealers you will always take your trousers down.

Keep it, use it, and buy a 2nd hack as mentioned.

Nice cars as M3s are, it'll depreciate like crazy.

Depreciation is the biggest cost for many car owners. You are in the middle of taking one hit and with the M3 you are setting yourself up for another hit. This is throwing money away. It is possible to buy cars that don't depreciate or which depreciate slowly. Running multiple cars is an excellent strategy and if done well can be cheaper than running one car. For instance you could buy a nice Jag 300 XJR for well under 8K put it on private plates and run it for 5 or 6 years after which you will still get money back. Every time you buy or sell you take a hit, so change as infrequently as possible. Keep the 360 and enjoy it, look at 355 prices and you can see that the worst is over.

please...
www.mobile.de
loads at 140k to 160K

Best way to buy an F40 is to find one a good one and haggle.. I could have bought one with the full active suspension, new tanks, Motec ECU, for 130k... The owner advertised it for 160k... There are not that many takers for F40s... seriously.
Its like this waiting list stuff, there are several new CS cars out there at list, several 360 spyders and there will be several F430s out there if you know the dealers and traders... all at list as well...

MudFish, seriously just drive it as a couple of people have said.. !!! even if it was driven to death it will be worth the same as it was stored. Mine is only worth 62k... I may even race it, hill climb it... it still will not loose that much more.....

Looks like I'm about to get royally shafted!
Bought a 'Y' for circa £85k in Jan 04, now has circa 13000 on clock. Trade offering in the region of £68k to take off my hands!

Its in excellent nick, I've never tracked it, 4 previous owners, no problems with it at all.

Any suggestions where I can get a better price? I got a totally shit service when I bought it and now to make things worse they want to take my pants down!

I am looking to Purchase a 360 have you any photos of your vehicle for my consideration.

Couldn't turn up to see my clients in the 360

If you are that good, then personally I would prefer you to turn up in the 360 rather than an M3. Good car though the M3 is, every tw*t has got one...in my line of business, if I'm paying for a top end resource I have no problem if they turn up in a high end car. Or a banger for that matter.
