you must be gutted, your car's first reg date reads as 28/05/2002 - so you are 2 or so weeks out of warranty. Will they not offer goodwill ?

Im sure it'll work out. The dealer did the front ball joints FOC, and as they didn't rectify the problem, I'm assuming the next fix they do won't incur anything.

The upshot is that I've gotten new front ball joints for free!

Assuming that's what it is, I'm just glad it's nothing more serious!

Can I refer you back to my previous post when I said....

The danger is though that I end up like I am now, only using the 2 seater to go to work in (circa 5 mile round trip) and that's it, the nicest car gets used the least.

I know many folks keep Ferraris / Lamborghinis locked away for 99% of the time and only use them occasionaly, but I can't see the point of that.

I've got an Audi A4 cabriolet for sunny wafting with the family and the Caterham for sunday blasts on my own / track days, then the wifes got a Volvo XC90 for big family jobs, so additional car is probably not sensible.

And I am talking about waiting and getting a year or 18 month old 612 when the major hit has been taken by someone else.

Jonny the factory warranty on Murcie's is only 2 years! (but three on Gallardo's for some reason?)

Why won't they pick the car up? Official UK car isn't it? warranty etc etc . Guess you paid top $ for the car, so demand some service.

Over three years old, no warranty...

Wow, great to see Lambo London have so much confidence in their product...

I was shocked when Manu told me this, coz I was seriously gonna get one straight after buying another house within the next couple of months, and thats put me right off.

Whats the benefit of buying from Lambo London? You'd be in a similar position if you went private?

I always heard the Murci was supposed to be very well made and reliable, hence the shock.

Although I hate Ferrari's attitude most of the time, but when this is the reality you are faced with, it is difficult to deny that they are welcome to some of their arrogance... they have close to the Lambo product, but with so much more support. You can get factory warranties for their cars upto like 8 years old. Lambo shit themselves with cars over 3yrs?

Bertie,
The 612 is not in the flesh as ugly as it is in the pics, but note no use of the word pretty . I personally don't like the exterior, but get it in anything but yellow and red (not seen a black one in the flesh, but tdf and a silver colour, and both helped it look less ugly) and you should at least be ok(ish). Interior is quite nice though.

You don't like the Vanquish?

Yeah, it's a bummer - but hey it's better than 1 year right! In fairness the Murcie is meant to be substantially better from a warranty/reliability perspective than the Gallardo (which I understand is blowing it's warranty provision out of the water)

In all fairness, Lambo London have been really good. I haven't paid so far for any work I've had done.

What I tend to do is speak to Sales and get them to verbally sign off any work and then Service bill Sales. As they each have their own individual cost centres, it makes life easier with no arguing as to whether you pay or not.

Sales keep a loyal customer happy, Service get paid and I get a warranty...

Tuan

PS: Bertie, to be honest, I couldn't make your choice now, I love them all! I've been distracted by the Gallardo Spider images recently and so it's my new fav car!

As Ali has said this sort of thing has put me off Lambo ownership.

I see a car, fall in Love, ask can I live with it then see threads like this and think hell no. Same thing put me off my 360, niggling never sorted out problems that were always causing me grief.

Keep seeing posts mentioning the factory being slow to respond as well and it just makes you think why do they deserve my money?

But then you go through life regretting having never done it...

I have to say that my Ferrari & Lambo ownership has been awesome compared to the numerous TVR's I've owned.

Don't regret it for a minute.

Couldn't agree more, the quality of both the cars and in particular the service I've recieved fom the dealers has been superb in my expierance.

As Tuan said, after 6 TVRs both my Ferraris have been superb.

I think a bit of patience and waiting for an 18mont old 612 is the way I'm headed.

Tuan,

Lambo London seem to be very accomodating in your case, and generally the sales guys are nice enough, and they will try to help out where possible, and seem fair IMO. But the problem is that its only them who are being helpful, not the company, H.R.Owen, or Lamborghini SpA giving some kind of directional order to customer service. That's where its scary, just relying on someone's word isn't enough where engine rebuilds are in question. If the product is strong enough to not need a warranty, that is when a company is most likely to give one (IMO). Manu told me of a Murci needing a £30K odd engine rebuild. Paid for by the owner.

I don't know what their contract is like with H.R. Owen as sole UK importer but with limitations like no of dealers, support and warranty, Lambo are fighting an uphill battle in what is a very healthy supercar market (the UK).

Anyway, at least you got your problem sorted FOC

I think the Gallardo Cab looks quite nice myself, and Rich you'd look perfect, wind blowing in your ha.... oops, well at least your head is kinda aerodynamic.

Fair one. TBH, I try not to think about it that much. If I ever had a serious problem with the Lambo, I wouldn't have the money to get it sorted. I'd just offload it at a loss...

I'm just lucky I've been able to at least enjoy it for the time that I have.

Its probably a good plan, it amazes me sometimes what support prices are for some items when they are not 100% condition, so you probably would come out better than having had it repaired anyway.
