They're a bit pricey indeed . . .

. . . but what a glorious piece of kit . . . not to be touched. That V12 is a temple to worship one of the best engine sounds ever. Interiour is period . . . can't imagine that as a kit . . . without feeling an absolute pagan

LOL yep, that pretty much sums up my feelings on them, but I'd rather worship at the temple of a fake god than sit and whinge about having a grotty eurobox instead

...a lot of these kits are made from moulds taken off original cars, so inaccuracies are often down to the builder rather than the kit - I overheard some chap at a show recently saying what a terrible replica a diablo was, that the panels were all wrong, etc etc etc - was quite ironic as the kit in question had actually been made using original lambo panels rather than the glass copies

Del. Bit cheeky to suggest Lambo's fit and finish is likely to be the reason for a poor replica. Equally, doesn't mean it wasn't true, though.
I've never met a non-defensive replica builder or owner yet. Like you, I've spoken with many, and whenever a defect was mentioned the response was always "That's straight off an original, mate. They were built like that."
LOL.

LOL yeah it might be cheeky, but as you say, can be equally true I'm a lambo fan through and through, in fact it's been my life long dream to own one, and will continue to be until the day I accomplish it, but I'm not blind to any manufacturers shortcomings and I've seen some pretty damn ropey shut lines on a lambo. I'm trying not to be tooooo defensive, but I do get really irked by people who scream "crap" about all kits and non-production cars when frankly I've seen many that way surpass the quality of modern cars.

I'm also of the camp that would buy a replica for the love of the looks of a car, but want it without the expense/unobtainability/A.N Other reason. Another car on my wish list is a GT40 - I'd buyand build a replica, because I want to experience the looks on a daily basis. (nearly) all GT40 rep's are taken from the KVA, which was moulded from the original by one of the original GT40 team, hell, he even managed to replicate the dodgy suspension traits to a 'T' I'd also then be able to leave it in Sainsbury's car park every day without have a minor stroke every 5 minutes wondering if several £000k's worth of car had been knicked/devalued

replicas make me a lot of people think it's real and the quality is not there, sorry just my opinion as a lambo owner and lover for over eleven years. (no one will convince me otherwise)
