How do you check the oil on a Gallardo Spyder?
Discussion
Hi
Only way i know is get the cover in the service position.
Start engine push both buttons and hold down till cover is fully up,might be enough room,i always pull the red loop and open the cover right up.
Make sure you then latch the cover back down before you close the lid otherwise it won't do anything.
Cheers

Btw like your choice Lambo
Wasn't too impressed with the amount of mud my car collected
Few days to clean it for sure.
Cheers mate.
Not often you get told to park behind the other black Lamborghini. Yeah I know what you mean about the mud. Before I left I was going to take a picture of them to show people how you showed me up, yours looks much better, but you'd already gone. What exhaust have you got fitted?Yeah ,although my car is V10 DPT

Sorry about taking over the thread Peter. A black 06 Gallardo Spyder. You pointed me, via Tim at Envy Valeting, in the direction of Mike Pullen for the last service. Thanks again for that.
Edited for spelling as using my phone.

p101 is the 07 model really so much different to drive to the earlier car? i briefly drove an 04 e gear once and i only remember the gearbox being very clunky compared to the newer car, the performance felt much the same.
I sold my last Gallardo last October'ish, so my memories of driving it may not be 100% accurate, but the car does seem very different, it does seem faster. but not sure how that would be possible, isn't 2006 + an extra 20BHP? but being a heavier spyder I am sure you could probably discount that. Perhaps because it's topless it gives the illusion of extra speed. BPD said:

Yeah mine seems quicker than my 04,not sure but might be gear ratios help it get moving faster.
How long have you had yours?
Over the last couple of years I don't think its done 500 miles a year.
I agree with the comments about it feeling faster than the 04. Not sure if it actually is, maybe just a bit smoother. Mind you the 04 was a manual and the 06 has egear so not really like for like.
At the minute the exhaust valves are open but might look into changing it. From new and it has done about 7,500 miles. How long you had yours?

Hi Peter,
This is from Lamborghini-Talk forum.
The easiest thing to do that makes the car loud all the time is to simply unplug the electrical connector from the solenoid valve. The valve is located behind the "Lamborghini" logo on the rear bumper. You can get to it by removing the center grill (you will need a Torx T15 screwdriver).
Then push in on the retaining bar with your thumb (see photo) as you pull the plug out of the solenoid valve. You should probably cover the open end of the plug (with tape, etc) to keep road dirt out of the terminals.
This method keeps all the vacuum lines attached so you don't run into other issues (vacuum leaks, contamination, etc.). Unplugging the solenoid valve will not harm the engine computer. I ran my car this way for some time with no CEL's or side effects.

Hopefully that helps.
