Well for those of you that did'nt it was the green 6.0ltr lookalike on an 'X' plate. I have to say its a very good copy, but the giveaway is the rear wheels too far under the arches, very poor panel fit especially around the doors, and umm the engine. Couldn't see what it was but suspect a V6... Perhaps someone will put some pics up? It was on one of bosscerbs pics

and according to lambochick it wasnt the only one

I've been reliably informed it was a replica, along with 3 others that made it into the show (2xCT and another Diablo)

Hi Simon,

I thought there was something a little odd about that lime green one when i saw it on saturday. The wheels were too far in the arches and the headlights weren't right either.

I hope you had a great weekend and a good journey back. It was good to say Hi to you in just after you checked in, I was the guy on the motorbike.

It was well worth getting soaked just to here you and Andy giving the Tubi a workout

Thats the one! I didn't spot the others but noticed it wasn't at Madeira Drive. Fair play to the guy who owned it though..it was the best one I've seen.
Yea nice to meet you. Shame about the weather. Today must have been the wettest day for ages. God knows what all those poor Italians thought who had driven 1000 miles to get pis*ed on and blown away!

The rear air intakes are a little too small too (look at Tony's next to it.) Fooled me at first (just scrolling through the images) so very impressive... think I would have colour coded the mirrors too if it was mine.

Simon, did it follow you (and others) up the hill just outside Brighton? There was a green one at the back of 4 or so cars. Wondered why I caught it so easily (if it was).

I reckon that the red Countach Anniversary may have been a fake!

Apparently, the car is registered as a Lambo with a 4.2ltr engine. Can this be possible? What would car have started life as?

The green Kit was behind me in the Gallardo for a while, it was definately struggling to keep with the pace when we managed to exercise the old right foot. Good copy though, from a distance you wouldn't tell.

Andy.

When I this drove in I though it must have had a custom paint job at some
stage but when parked the gaps around the fronts of some of the door openings
were easy to see. Once I 'overheard' a chap and his son discussing quite
loudly for all to hear that it 'wasn't too bad for a replica' I quickly
put my camera away...

There were several rep's going from the lamboreplica site. Many of the kits out there have stupid amounts of power so dont assume your ability to catch it is necessarily related to it being a kit!

As to how close a copy they are, a lot of these kits are made from moulds taken off original cars, so inaccuracies are often down to the builder rather than the kit - I overheard some chap at a show recently saying what a terrible replica a diablo was, that the panels were all wrong, etc etc etc - was quite ironic as the kit in question had actually been made using original lambo panels rather than the glass copies

I notice that the white Countach with the L3 MBO number plate, is on the www.lamboreplica.co.uk site.
Did that one fool anyone this weekend.
Those replicas have come a long way since those awful efforts from the eighties and nineties.
Some of those Diablo reps look quite convincing in the pictures.

Hi there,

The owner of the Green Diablo VT replica must have felt quite good. He arrived at the event and parked his car at the top of the hill. He probably thought "being as my car is a replica they won't let me park it with the real cars". He just started to get out of the car and a marshall shouted at him and ordered him down the hill to park with the others.

I know its a replica, but its a very good one. That colour is my favourite and I honestly thought it was a real one.

Regards

Tim

I don't profess to know a lot about Lamborghini but it had me fooled.

Hi there,

Just noticed another Diablo kit that made it to the show, again I really thought this was a genuine car.

I know the car is on an 'E' reg number plate, but I thought it may be a private reg to tie in with the owners name. Stupid me.

I have just read a post by the owner on the Lamboreplica site, he wrote: -

"Managed to get in without mentioning we were replica's and parked up with the rest of the boys"

The Diablo Roadster arrived at the show with two countach's, the red W-Reg and the White one. I assume both of these are replicas also.

Seems a lot of people were fooled. Were any of the other cars 'fakes' except the Green Diablo.

Regards

Tim
