Discussion
Saw several threads like this in the Porsche section when I had one of those, and it was quite cool to scroll through and look at other peoples pride and joy...so lets see if it's as popular in the italian section of the forum. Hopefully I've uploaded mine ok othjerwise that would be a shocking start!
Good idea, I had mine on the Porsche forum, here is my italian diva. We call her the "Castafiore"

Stunning! How are you finding it after the 911? I remember you saying you thought your last 360 was a bit fragile - just wondered if you thought the CS was better screwed together.at the Opera, Le Mans

Stunning! How are you finding it after the 911? I remember you saying you thought your last 360 was a bit fragile - just wondered if you thought the CS was better screwed together.NO REGRETS AT ALL (already driven 9,000km in less than 2months)....feels/sounds like a F1, especially in Race Mode.
What a car! Must be owned and driven - at least once in a life time if you can afford it.
More seriously on the highway it is as loud as the 997.1 RS at +100mph: a radio would be useless (i don't have one). So best is to cruise slightly under 4000rpm/90mph. Also very much depends on the road surface: good in France, appalling in the UK
In town, the box can be a little jerky in Race mode, so i guess Normal mode it is...no prob at all for parking and reversing: the clutch is smooth enough and the accelerator pedal feel as well. I didnt think I would bound that well with the F1, but it is actually quite good.
Two good points in town: suspension feels softer than the RS and the front spoiler doesnt catch every single speedbump or pothole.
B-roads and track, the car is clearly central designed, you never feel the back giving up like on the RS when driving on the hedge...it is very "progressive". I don't know if i would have been quicker around the track in the RS, but the CS felt definitely easier to drive.
The Ceramics even though much older than the RS ones felt as good. The pedal feel is good and didnt feel so much different from the RS, actually maybe slightly spongy (could be the brake fluid which wasnt "race" type as i had on my RS). But the stopping power was there: i did lap 7 x 30min without any fading or heating (it was a warm day out on the track, 27degrees).
Compared to the 360, it is a much nicer drive, the steering should be the same in theory as using the same parts, but somehow it feels much much better, of course lighter and less feedback than the porsche, but nonetheless a nice place to be. I guess this is due to the CS geo/suspension being different from the 360.
Also the interior feels so much more special than the 360, the alcantara/carbon mix just works wonders (especially in full charcoal w/ red stitching and not the typical red seats/lowerdash/upper steering wheel).
Conclusion: for someone like me who enjoys the car mostly in town and on pan european trips the car is really good - on par with the RS, ...actually maybe slightly better: the sound is to kill for.
As for trackdays, i'll probably only do 2 a year, it is very friendly and makes you feel like Alonso - really sounds like a F1 down the straights. Why 2 trackdays a year: because it is so loud, I wouldn't know where to take it!
If i were to track more often, the RS wins...unless you've got deep deep pockets (actually spent something close to 8-01kGBP on the 997.1RS last year for 7 trackdays and 17kmiles).
I'm a RS fanatic, but actually think the CStradale will stick around for a couple years.
Will only go back to RS once I have a kid, as will need the extra space (964/993 RS next) - and if lucky enough will own both CS and RS at the same time.
note: i remember when i bought the 360Modena, Clive told me it would last as i wouldn't like it and that within a couple month he would need to sell it again - turns out he was right: kept it one summer, did 10kmiles and wanted out of it as soon as possible. He sold it, and it was gone to Australia. I never thought i would look back at a Ferrari again.
He got me a 997.1RS, had an amazing year with it, 17kmiles of trackdays, surf/snow trips, commuting, etc. but Veronika never bonded with it (too much of the boy racer look)...and guess what Clive got me into a Challenge Stradale, said it was a total different beast from the 360 and really a keeper and i will not sell it any time soon: I guess he is right
That's a great write up, thanks for taking the time to post. I had my 360 at pretty much the same time as you and also sold it at abut the same time, also to Aus!
I've now got a 1 year old, so having to be a bit more sensible (C63 Coupe), but I keep hankering after another Ferrari....there's just something about them!

This thread is a great idea.
Here's my white 08 Gallardo Superleggera which I've owned for just over a year. I recently took the beast to Bedford Autodrome for a track evening and was surprised how differently it drove compared with the fully RWD cars I've owned (Exige/Aero 8 etc) - despite 70% of the power going to the rear. I'm currently considering removing the after-market bumper and the Lamborghini shields as they really split opinion.

you need a bigger rear wing if you're going to track it Here's my white 08 Gallardo Superleggera which I've owned for just over a year. Scuderia gone, gen1 997 RS arriving.
I loved the Scud in nearly every way but I found after 14 months and 8500 miles I just couldn't live with the bills, the anxiety of ownership and another imminent 4 month lay up
I've driven a couple of CS's and on the whole I think, not suprisingly, they are very much the same as Scuderias. Fabulous engines with wonderful sound, delicate precise steering and fantastic balance. Gearbox in the Scud is better in every way too and just about the best I've tried (Honourable mention to Nissan GTR box)
I loved the attention , eventually, after being embarrassed at first, the conversations I had and the doors that it opened but it felt too extravagant somehow.
Using it often and properly was a bit decadent and expensive in every way and I just felt that if I treated it as a toy , never going out on wet days (It was poor in the rain ) and never taking it out of the garage for 4 months last winter, it was a bit of a waste.
Being moaned at because of its lack of activity got to me in the end.
So after some consideration and an expensive jump into the wrong replacement, back to Porsche and more specifically GT3s.There's a robustness and sense of solidity in Porsches that Ferraris just lack. Its the ability to provide a similar sensation to a Scuderia or CS in terms of its performance, engine delivery and even noise (Still marvellous even if its all a LOT quieter). Even better steering and feel, fantastic damping and control whilst giving 30% better consumption, much reduced servicing requirements and the feeling that if it goes out on a salted road your not allowing rot to set in.
And the ceramics on a GT3 are much, much better than the scratchy, temperature dependent and hugely expensive to replace Brembos on a Ferrari.
Sounds like I'm being harsh. i don't mean to be. I would say the Ferrari (Any Ferrari) is more of an event every time you get in it and they are brilliant, its just I want it to be something I'm comfortable using more often, that offers better value for money , more hours of enjoyment in the winter and slightly less massive bills.
Here's a couple of mine in action....
