Gallardo - Front Lift - Option or Standard?
Discussion
Well to get to my parking area I have to go over a pavement (thats been dropped) but it has a bit of a hump to the pavement and isnt perfectly flat.... I currently have a V8 Vantage and with 2 people in the car the MIDDLE of the car between the front and rear wheels will sometimes rub ever so slightly, it is fine with just me in the car.
So I think the Gallardo is a lower car, and I do not want to risk buying a car that I cannot get on to my parking area.... The lift option seems like a sensible thing to aim for, as it should certainly remove the risk of rubbing?

Had the same prob with my early Diablo, solved by paying the council to re lay the cross over cost me around £800. Best upgrade for my car ! Sounds like worse than "normal" speed bumps. I am sure someone with lifting gear on will be able to advise on the height it gives you. I spotted a couple in the workshop at Lambo London and they did look reasonably high so should solve your problem.
Good luck with your search and you won't look back once you've got one.

From research the "ride height" on my V8V is 5.5"
The ride height on the Gallardo is 5.1"
So assuming all things equal I lose about 1.5CM max between the two cars... What I am going to do is go and park my aston on the bump with 1 person in the car, and try to measure the gap, it may be I can get away with a non-lifting car, but I need to be very sure!
The nose is fine because its quite a gradual bump and the short nose means the front wheels go "up" before any rubbing, it is just when the car is directly over the pavement equally between the front and back wheels that the middle of the car has been know to very very lightly rub, so thats where I need to be very sure!
thanks for the replies..

Also I understand almost impossible to retrofit. Do you really need one as I have 07 Spyder without and have never had a problem.
You certainly do need the front lifting system here in North London, otherwise you won't be able to negotiate the many speed bumps, lumps, and potholes that the Politburo Standing Committee of the People's Republic of Haringey apparently thinks it's important to have strewn around the place. Since the snow, there's some particularly fine combination speed bumps and potholes in Coppetts Road, on the hill up from the Coppetts Wood Hospital high-security infectious diseases unit.I think you can have it retrofitted if you are feeling brave. Conveniently, I have a folded copy of the Lamborghini Original Accessories brochure wedged under the wobbly leg of my desk, so let me see ... it has ...
Lifting system kit for standard shock absorbers
Lifting system kit for sports shock absorbers
Lifting system kit for comfort shock absorbers
It is, however, the most recent edition of the brochure that doesn't have any prices in it: it's a bit like being given the ladeeez' menu in a restaurant.
Does anyone have the rechargeable torch from that brochure? The interior illumination in a Sypder is totally useless when you drop your keys down the side of the seat in the dark. I thought the torch thingy might sit quietly in the cigs lighter socket until needed?
