Delivered next week.... I have never owned (or driven infact!) a LP640 before but it has always been my dream car...! Its LHD pearl white with black/white interior. Can you tell me what to watch out for or ask for as I can imagine potential repair bills to be back breaking!.

Thats the way justices! lol
I went to ashford to look at a 599 and they just happen to have a Meuciliego in stock so I had a chance to sit in it/play a little and I absolutely hated the car the interior looked like a funeral casket and it was so unconfortable I think 10mins in there would be an accomplishment let alone with G forces lol sO I had my heard set on a 599.....but just for the sake of it I drove the 110mile trip to view the LP640 and nope hands down, heart started fluttering I had the wobbles and I threw my debit card at the guy and probably was close to giving a kiss lol. Its always been my dream car, my all time favourite but I could never afford to go that high but this was a very good price (which of course did make me suspicious) and was within my price range just!

Granted thate eveverything from my checkups I should get it next week sometime...can anyone tell me roughly what an extended warranty costs and what is the best one? I'd need 2 years minimum again, for peace of mind lol

And honestly Ive thought about it walking around the car, looking at it, what to do, I literally couldnt do anything to this car to make it any better, and I know this because of the rock hard erection I have perminently when im within reach of it lol

Welcome my friend - I have had my LP640 Roadster (same colour) for 2 years now and its been pretty trouble free. Annual service £800-1500, and thrills all the way!
I hope I am as fortunate as you bud! How many miles are you doing per year?

Car needed roughly 2k worth of repairs and then few other bits and bobs came up....something about the valve timings? Anyways is about a 8hour labour plus parts job which is being paid for by the dealer/prev owner so car should be complete by Monday/Tuesday next week. Car is also having its VSA (or VOSA?) test tomorrow at 1pm and that should pass through fine. (Failed last one due to being in KPH but has been changed to MPH at a cost of 5k....again bourne by the dealer!). Any idea after the VSA/VOSA certificate has been issued how fast a UK plate can be registered/assigned to it? I should definately be recieving it next week!

Just hit 41,000 miles in the LP640. 4587 drivers since new in 2007 - been hammered round tracks since then.

Overall? Superbly reliable, though the gearbox is the weak link. Had two new ones under warranty - ours is manual - and its clearly at the top of its game with 630BHP. That said its been fine since, although third gear syncromesh is starting to whine meaning a 'box rebuild.

Expect rear spoiler to begin a life of its own and various lights on the dash that seem to cure themselves especially the check engine ones.
Doesn't use much oil unlike Gallardo's but always keep an eye on it. I once had it cutting out on corners and couldnt work it out until I checked the oil. Not a drop in it. Filled it up and the cutting out ceased immediatly.
Very much a sorted supercar in my opinion, I cant remember it letting me down once. It's going soon though. Looking forward to its replacement wink
Well thats reassuring! lol Fingers crossed no monstrous repair bills in the first 12 months anyway! Will treat it with love and care lol - by the way bud I read over in Readers cars forum section that you managed to keep the vents open on the LP640 by taking a fuse out? Would you mind if you explain how/where either in pm or on here? By the way check this out I ordered for 1700pounds and is coming on Saturday which you may like! Much cheaper than the real 14k wing from lambo directly....!

That's some seriously painful looking clearance you've got coming out of the garage, are you catching the front with the suspension raised? What are your initial thoughts after taking delivery and first drive?
Absolutely amazing car sounds wonderful, interior is gorgeous and very comfortable suprisingly! Can imagine a 70mile drive to London not actually being too painful! I havnt been able to drive it yet as still waiting for DVLA to issue the car's first UK plates as its an import from Hungary! It is catching the nose but by tonight the tarmac should be dry enough which we've laid down and a much more even slope so easier to get in/out!

Yes, to keep the vents up permanently best have two people. Open the engine lid, start the car then press the button to raise them manually. Once they are up have your mate ready to flick the battery master switch on the passenger side under the lid. Turn off the ignition then get your mate to immediately flick off the battery switch. Leave a minute, turn back on and hey presto the vents won't go down. It's much more complicated getting them back down though.
Could you PM me or let me have the where you got the rear wing from ta? Look good on the orange Murcie me thinks
Have the website address / email of the place I bought it from on work PC so I'll pm you tomorrow - I recieve it in 2 days (saturday) so I suggest you wait till I've had a look so 2 of us dont get ripped off with shoddy workmanship lol.

Could you show me a pic of the battery kill switch m8? and where abouts it is exactly?

Because there's plenty of standard ones out there! Most people either wouldn't want to, or be too scared to modify their cars.
biggrin

Just wait till you see what I have planned next lol !

And thanks for those halfords links - all ordered angel

Planning on gold plating the exhaust and lamborghini badge (writing only), then gold vinyl on the 2 wings and bottom air scoops lol.
