Morning all.

I'm in the fortunate position whereby I have been offered overs for my Performante with a view to conclude the deal at the end of this month.

I absolutely adore this car and whilst not as quick as my previous Mclarens its been a dam sight more reliable in six weeks and almost 2000 miles of ownership, I also have a spyder variant on order for September delivery so am not fussed to get out of it now for a profit.

I'm tempted to Jump into an Aventador SV Roadster to tide me over however, having heard mixed reviews I was curious to hear some real world answers from anyone on here that may have both, or have driven both and how do they stack up against one another?

The SV wins hands down in the looks and sound department however, I have been told that the drive is not as good or involving. Things like ride quality and harshness doesn't bother me but just how bad is the gearbox and overall drive compared to the Perf?

The cars I have been looking at have close to delivery miles so its not easy to get a decent test drive if any to really get a feel for the car, I also don't like to come across as a tyre kicker with the first drive for new cars usually being when I collect them.

Thanks in advance.

I'm sold!!

Topjay that was brilliant, thank you Sir!.

I suppose next steps are to maybe find one with a bit more mileage and see if I can give it a go.

Also there is a easy cure for the uncomfortable race seats if you get them, put spacers in at the front, costs virtually nothing and makes it a lot better driving position rather than sitting with your face on the windscreen, not to say comfy as such, but a lot better, that and a sparco support cushion and you will be all good.
I've got a small pillow - the ones they give you on Transatlantic flights in my Perf and that works wonders for me with the race seats, if I was going to keep it longer I would have got it trimmed in the same fabric as the interior. I specced my spyder with comfort seats which I knew was the right choice after spending an hour and a half in traffic after my initial collection and it nearly broke my back!

Good to know about the spacers though - thanks!

Try to ignore RamboNarcicist Tom,

He's just bitter that his Perf is now under list and he's spent more time bragging to the neighbours and on pistonheads than actually driving it.

Congrats on the purchase by the way- The SV is definitely king, As you've probably had a go in the perf how does it stack up against it?

"So in summary- Aventador for show, Performante for Go!"

Have to agree with this statement. I love the Aventador ( especially SV ) to look at but sadly thats where the love affair ends. Real shame as it would be awesome with a decent gearbox and hopefully the next gen will get one
Im sorry but I don't agree with that summary.

I managed to actually test drive one last night and am in love! Whilst in sport the box is a bit clunky, in Corsa it's on par with the perf IMO.

IMO and as other people I have spoken with echoed, the perf anyone can get in and look like a driving god as it is so easy to deal with whilst with the SV it takes a lot more skill and dedication to extract the most from, whilst the perf sounds awesome the SV is on a whole other level, I was hooked after thirty seconds.

The way I would summarise is the Perf is like a precision scalpel whilst the SV is more like a super Sharpe meat cleaver, the theatre and drama is out of this world.

Anyway deal done and collect next week - will post pictures up once collected.

Thanks again for all the help gents.
