As we now have Lambo's on the forum,
Anyone any idea what a Diablo costs to run a year?Is it about the same as a 348 or 355 or substantially more?

I am very tempted by a Diablo for my next car.Don't think that anything other than an F40 would have the same appeal to me.
Steve

I know I should'nt have gone to Brooklands yesterday....all those Diablo's!!

You'll be selling the Turbo then Steve?

Not yet Kevin, may be in a couple of years(if I can wait that long!)

I have owned a 1992 Diablo for a couple of years and had a Countach QV for 4 years before that. In my experience Lambos are cheaper to run than Ferrari's overall as they don't need cambelt changes every 3 years.

I've not had any big bills for the Diablo as yet (fingers crossed!). The clutch issue is a bit of a myth as it depends on how you treat it. I know someone in the club who has racked up 30000 miles on the same clutch no problem.

Running costs for Diablos obviously depend on where you take them for servicing but specialist annual services are about £800-1000.

Craig,
If you can make the next V.Water meet on 20/10 it would be fantastic!

Interesting car survey articles - it seems most of these cars have been pretty reliable.

You can see my car at:

www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?p=2&f=25&t=12197&h=0

(you may have seen me at Le Mans)

I admit that build quality is not up to standard for a £150k car (apart from on the Audi'fied 6.0 versions) but it is not as bad as people make out. I do about 3000 miles a year and have not had major expenses as yet (I had more problems with my F355 by the way and this was bought from a main dealer with warranty!).

I will try and make the V Water meet if I can (is the entrance wide enough?!)

Please do Craig ,if you can I'm sure it will bring another 30 or so cars down to see it . I'll make sure entrance is wide enough! Seriously it is very wide,no speed bumps either!
Cheers
Steve
