Gallardo to 997s to 360 spider?
Discussion
Chaps,
I drive around 3000 miles a year, either commuting to work (yawn) or having a dedicated blast on a Sunday. I have garaging even though I live in Central London so thats the first thing covered!
I love the 997, but when I see it in the garage, I keep thinking that I could have something more 'special' as I use the Cayenne for family trips, day to day stuff. I was thinking of a lovely '73 Dino from Nick Cartwright (posssibly to fragile) but now I'm thinking either 2003/4 Murceilago (took a beating on the Gallardo so still hurting, but it seems a lot of car for £130k) or a 360 spider (red/crema) , which seems a bit more sensible and easier to live with (all things are relative!).
I wanted to ask you chaps - if you've driven them both, would you take the stick shift over the F1 on the 360 - even with the updated clutch, that I'm told is essential? Has anyone lived with a 360spider for a considerable time and can they give me a warts and all appraisal?
I found the cabin of the 360 a much nicer place to be compared to my old Gallardo - I'm test driving a red/crema/shields 360 manual tommorrow, so looking forward to it.
I was worried about hosing another £30k to £40k in a year on a F430 so didn't consider one - it seems like 360s of all types have slipped 10% in the last 3-6 months and they say the best time to buy a spider is in the winter.....
I'd really appreciate your thoughts.
