everything has been just peachy since i got her, 2 months ago...until i offered to drive my mental younger brother to heathrow on sunday morning. he was salivating and goading and whilst i am a sensible chap i was driving in an invigorating style.slowed down at some dodgy roadworks approaching heathrow on stockley bypass and some tt in a rover basically carves me up.bang. right rear tyre vs kerb. sudden wobbly feeling and pull over. one burst pirelli, slightly gouged alloy and a phone call to aa...nightmare. back to home on back of truck....neighbours curtains where twitching..i expect they where hoping for more damage to see but apart from the tyre shes fine. qv at ascot will pick up tommorow and assess any suspension damage. is it likely?not really a full on broad side more of a kiss. felt and feel really gutted but i think if you are going to have a lesson , a burst tyre and marked alloy is probably a good one. i think these cars are fine when one drives alone or with a female who doesnt encourage the full experience. its when people with lots of testosterone get in , their first ferrari drive and one feels the need to live up to the hype that things can go pear shaped. any tips on how to deal with these scenarios? avoid? take valium/beta blocker before taking the wheel. ironically just before incident i'd been showing bruv how tractable engine was by pootling along in 5th at 30 and feeling very sensible. looking at her tonite feel a bit like i've let a freind down, cant really look at it...still those boys at ascot will hopefully have her sitting on two new boots soon and from now on i'll look at alloy gouge every time i get in to temper my inclinations. i'm sure however that these cars should never be driven by the even slightly deranged..the noise/feel /look/power/history can get you in a lot of trouble.
